Billitteri Thomas J. Gender Pay Gap. CQ Researcher 14 Mar. 2008: 241-64. Web 8
Nov. 2016.
This article is about the pay gaps women face in the workplace. It goes into a
lot of the history for example the equal pay act and how feminism started. I
used this in the beginning of my essay to give a brief history on how
discrimination for women in the workforce all started. It gave me some great
background information to base my waves explanation off of. This article
provided some great examples of these gender gaps that I incorporated into
my article. I know this is a trusted source because this is one of the websites
the librarian at LSU showed us how to used. Then end of the article also has
contact information and a lot of trusted work cited sources. The author
Thomas Billitteri is a journalist with bachelors in English with more than 30
years of experience.

Johnson, Michelle. "Women and Work." CQ Researcher 26 July 2013: 645-68. Web. 8 Nov. 2016.

This article covers a wide variety of topics. It talks about women in the
working force before and after the war. Explanations for the gender pay gap
such a women tend to go for the softer sciences. This article even talks
about sexual harassment and gives examples of how it has affected women.

I incorporated gender inequality into my paper from this article to relate back
to my topic as why that is a cause of gender pay gaps. I also got more
information on some things the government is doing to close the gap such as
the Fair Pay Act. I know this is a trusted resource because it is under the
LSUs library databases as well as a lengthy work cited. The author Michelle
Johnson is an editor in Winston-Salem, N.C. with more than 20 years of
experience and a bachelors degree as well as a graduate certificate in
communication from Augustana College and University of North Carolina.

Adams, Bob. "The Glass Ceiling." CQ Researcher 29 Oct. 1993: 937-60. Web. 8 Nov. 2016.

This article is all about the term glass ceiling which is a term meaning the
invisible limit on the height a woman can climb in a job or profession. The
paper talks about different reasons why this term exist as well as great
examples and statistics to prove it is happening even more. The article
covers information from WII to now. I used this paper to compare glass
ceiling with another term I introduce glass escalator which is a term meaning
the males fast climb to
higher positons in a women dominated profession. This paper helped me get
examples as well as more information on glass ceilings. I know this is a
trusted article because I found it on CQ researcher which is a website listed
on the LSUs library resources. It also has a large work cited telling me where
all the information came from.
Conley, Dalton. You May Ask Yourself. W.W. Norton & Company, 2008.

This book is a book that was required for my sociology class and one of the
chapters in the book talks about gender. I used this chapter to talk about
gender roles as well as some theories that are associated with them and how
they relate to the gender gap. The main three theories I talk about in my
paper are sex role theory, psychoanalytic theories, and conflict theories.
These theories talk about how women are for domesticated duties and how
men benefit from that. This is a great topic to talk about in my paper to show
how males views on women affect the gender gap. The author Dalton Cooley
is an American sociologist as well as a professor at Princeton University.

This I a magazine article that cover many topics I discuss in my paper. It
states that women hold more than half of the jobs in the United States
although the gender pay gap is still growing. I talk about the Equal Pay Act
applies to a small amount of women. I use this magazine article to talk about
glass ceiling, discrimination, and unequal pay in my paper. I know this is a
credible article because it was found in the databases link off of the library
resources site on myLSU. I also know this a valid article because the
magazine is about women in business.
Farrell, Nancy. "10 Landmark Court Cases in Women's Rights - Criminal Justice Degrees

article. I know it is a trusted site because it states a source that has the copy
rights that look reliable. The source is Criminal Justice Degrees Guide. The
