Grade Two Unit Plan

The Joy of Winter Celebrations December 2016 8 classes

Generative Topic: As the weather starts to get colder and everyone gets in the
mood to celebrate the songs of the season, it is important acknowledge this
and use these songs to teach important parts of the curriculum. In December,
we will focus on expanding our rhythmic literacy to include the whole note and
whole rest. We will also focus on the organization of music and learn various
forms through listening and movement. Lastly, we will bring together what we
know about the expressive qualities of music and demonstrate an awareness
through movement.
