Big Idea or Concept:


The big idea for this unit is for the
students to learn how to become master of
a literary circle while reading Bridge to
Terabithia. Each student will have tasks to
do while reading the book and reporting
back to their peers.

Students will understand/know


Students will know how to actively
participate in a literary circle by the end of
the unit
Student will use notetaking as a scaffold if
necessary during their writing.

Stage 2- Assessment Evidence

Monitoring and Feedback:


Students will show understanding through
the unit by completing their assigned task
while reading the chapters assigned for the
week.
I will be giving feedback by going from
group to group and expressing to them
what I like about what they have done thus
far.

Other Evidence:
Students will be able to share what they
became maters of during their weekly
assignment.

Students will be able to reflect upon their


learning by showing me in their homework
that they know the topic. If needed, they will
receive additional help.
