V. HOW TO APPLY:
The eligible applicants are required to apply online through website
www.nabard.org. No other means/ mode of application will be
acceptable. The application form should be filled in English only.
Option for the use of Hindi language will be available for the Written
Test/ Interview.
Before registering their application on the website, candidates are
required to download the format of the challan, fill it up, deposit the
prescribed application fee in cash as per charges (as indicated
under para iv above) at any branch of State Bank of India and get
receipt from the branch.
GUIDELINES FOR FILLING APPLICATION ARE AS UNDER:
i. Applicants should have a valid e-mail id. In case candidate does
not have a valid e-mail, he/ she can create a new e-mail id. This
e-mail should be valid for the duration of the recruitment period.
This will help him/ her in getting call letter/ interview advices, etc.,
by e-mail.
ii. Applicants must ensure that on deposit of fees and other charges,
the branch issues him two copies of the challan which should
invariably mention undernoted terms :- (i) Journal number (7-10

deposit.
iii. The payment of fees should be made between 14.06.2010 to
12.07.2010. This date will also be applicable to the applicants
belonging to far-flung areas.
iv. Applicants should keep a copy of the Application printout and
Challan Receipt for their record.
v. NABARDs copy of the Challan will have to be submitted with the
admission letter at the time of written examination.
vi. An Acquaint Yourself booklet will be made available to the applicants
on the NABARD website which they may download along with the
call letter for written test.
vii. Applicants serving in Government/ Quasi Government Offices,
Public Sector Undertaking including Nationalised Banks and Financial
Institutions will be required to submit No Objection Certificate
from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their
candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if
any, otherwise admissible, will not be paid.
viii. The reserved category applicant will have to produce his/her original
caste certificate/ relevant certificates at the time of Phase-II
Examination and Interview, failing which his/ her candidature shall
be cancelled and he/ she will not be admitted for interview. OBC
applicants, availing reservation will have to produce OBC certificate
with Non-creamy layer clause issued by Govt. of India on or after
01.04.2010 at the time of interview.
NOTE : With a view to overcoming the possibility of applicants
seeking help of other applicants during the written exam, the
Bank would be analysing the responses of applicants in the
written examination with other appeared applicants to detect
patterns of similarity. On the basis of such an analysis, if it is
suspected that the responses have been shared and scores
obtained are not genuine/ valid, the Bank reserves the right
to cancel the candidature of the suspected applicants. Hence
the applicants are advised in their own interests not to indulge
in any unfair practice in the exams.
VI. EMOLUMENTS AND SERVICE CONDITIONS

PAY AND PERQUISITES
Pay & Allowances:
l During the initial training period, stipend of Rs.5700/pm will
be admissible but on successful completion of initial training

less stipend already paid, shall be admissible with
retrospective effect.
l On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the
Pay Band Rs.5200- 20200. In addition they will be paid Grade

Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master
Chief Petty Officer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay
scale of Rs 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay @Rs.4800/- Plus MSP

commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well
and qualify the prescribed examinations.
Perquisites:
l During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors
are given books, reading material, uniform, food and
accommodation etc. free of cost.
l Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel
Concessions for self and dependents, Group Housing
Benefits and other privileges. Sailors are also entitled to
Annual and Casual Leave, Children education and house
rent allowances. Post retirement benefits include pension,

SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit
depending on their performance in Written Test,
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical
Examinations.
Written Test:
l The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and
objective type.
l The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e.
English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
l The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and
the syllabus for the examination is available on internet site
www.nausena-bharti.nic.in.
l Duration of question paper will be of one hour.
l The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in
aggregate.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
l PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes,
25 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates
undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
Medical Standards:
l Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military
doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current
regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
l Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be
proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.
l Good mental, medical and physical health free from any
disease/ disability, likely to interfere with efficient
performance of duties. Colour perception: CP II.
l No Cardio- vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock
knee, flat feet etc. infection of ears, no history of fits or
psychiatric ailment, varicose vein, corrective surgery for
eye sight etc.
l Medical standard should be as per the detailed guidelines
issued by IHQ MoD (Navy) in NO (Spl) 01/2008.
l Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for
wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to

OF ASSISTANT ENGINEERS(CIVIL) BELONGING TO.ST./
S.C. CATEGORIES OF THE STATE OF ORISSA
ADVERTISEMENT NO.1 OF 2010
Application in the prescribed form are invited from Graduate
Engineers (Civil) belonging to S.T./S.C. Categories of the State
of Orissa for preparation of merit list of the candidates for
engagement as Asst. Engineer(Civil) in different Departments
of Government on contract basis with consideration
remuneration of Rs. 9,300/- (Rupees nine thousand and there
hundred) per month.
2. The last date for receipt the application : 30.06.2010 by
5.00 P.M.

4. Selection Procedure: Marks secured in HSC/ +2 and Degree
Examinations on the basis of weightage assigned as follows:
H.S.C Intermediate/+2 Degree in Engineering Total

5. Age limit: A candidate must not be below 21 years of age
and not above 37 years of age as on 1st January 2010. 6.
Educational Qualification: A candidate must be a Graduate in
Civil Engineering from University/Institution recognized by the
Government.7. Certificates/ documents to be attached: A
candidates must submit true copies of the following documents
duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with his/ her application
form.
(i) Caste and Residential certificate from the competent
authority. (ii) All certificates and mark sheets in support of
educational qualification. (iii) Physically Handicapped
certificate, if any, from the competent authority. (iv) Two
passport size photograph duly signed by the candidate and
attested by a Gazetted Officer on the front side of the
photographs. (v) Two self addressed stamped envelopes of
size(22x10) cm
8. Other Conditions: (a) The engagement is on contractual
basis and is valid up to end February 2011. Renewal of the
contact can be considered subject to satisfactory
performance evaluated by the competent authority. (b) Mere
employment in the list of successful candidates shall not confer
any right for contractual engagement. (c) Incomplete and
defective application shall summarily rejected. (d) The applicant
if selected shall give an undertaking that in future he/shall not
claim regular scale of pay and other allowances for continuing
in the said post. (e) The complete application with all enclosures
should reach the Commissioner-cum-Secretary to
Government, Department of Water Resources, Govt. of Orissa,
Rajiv Bhawan, Bhubaneswar by Registered/ Speed post only.
The envelope containing the application should superscribe

take any responsibility if the application is not reached in time.
