Product Description
Cool Cab is one of the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for maintaining a
comfortable environment in your elevator. The packaged unit mounts on top of the
elevator and comes with a kit that includes everything needed for installation including
the LiftAire elevator air conditioner/heating unit, washable filter, mechanical
thermostat, flex ducts, supply air diverter, wire ties, tubes and brackets. These units are
designed for single-phase applications only.

Product Application
Using small air conditioner technology, Cool Cab provides a cost-effective solution to
climate control during hot, humid days for any existing or new elevator. The smaller size
unit is designed for any elevator, although the bigger unit is recommended for outside
elevators and glass hoistway elevators. Units are designed for single-phase power only.

Cool Cab is a closed-loop system air is drawn from the cab, cooled down, then forced
back into the cab. The mechanical thermostat is mounted into the return air flex duct for
secure setting and accurate temperature setting and has an optional automatic changeover from heat to cool. The fan can be set to operate continuously for improved air
circulation and filtration. The compressor is mounted on shock-absorbing rubber for
added durability and noise reduction.

Selling Strategy
In one easily installed package, Cool Cab provides elevator comfort, environmental
compliance and cost efficiency that improve the overall quality of the building, and
passenger satisfaction. A comfortable temperature in the elevator benefits building
management by attracting additional tenants, increasing revenue flow, and improving
building property value and image. The unit is self-contained and mounts easily in any
location on top of the elevator.

Market/Competitor Analysis
The market size is unlimited. Many customers are currently looking for air conditioning
units for their elevators. The advantage Otis has is we service the elevators in many
instances, and therefore, access to the car top and hoistway is relatively easy.
There are a few other air conditioning units on the market. However, Cool Cab is one of
the most compact, has an economical price and is the only one specifically designed for
elevators.

Installation
Installation will vary depending on the job site. Typical AC installations are running
about 16 person-hours. Condensate Evaporator installations typically are an additional 4
person-hours over the AC installations. Check with your Service Superintendent for
details.
