and for those ready for enrichment. However, modifications are not covered in this course and
are not part of this particular lesson.

This lesson is a continuation TN Science standard 0507
We will go back and look over this plant and animal cells assignment to elaborate more
on plant and animal cells in the future

PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:

Introduction:

I will begin by introducing plant and animal cells to the students and briefly talk
about plant and animal cells
Explain instructions

Procedures:
Prior to the Computer (10 minutes)
Teacher Procedure:
Procedure:
1. After introduction distribute worksheet that
worksheet for a few
has plant and animal cells picture (which

Student
1. Students will work on
minutes

will be able to have parts identified)

At the Computer (30 minutes)
Teacher Procedures:

Student Procedures:

1. Have students open

Internet browser
2. Direct students to the
website with practice on
parts of plant and animal
cells and let them work on
that for a few minutes
3. Direct students to the
YouTube link with plant and
animal cell rap
4. Monitor and assist as
needed

1. Open Internet browser

2. Go to the website with practice
on plant and animal cells and work
for a few minutes
3. Go to google and watch video on
plant and animal cell rap

After the Computer (20 minutes)

Teacher Procedures:
1. Direct student back to their seats
and instruct them to work on their
worksheet again, now that they have
learned more about plant and animal
cells
2. Put students into groups of 3 or four
people
3. Instruct students to compare their
results will classmates to see if they are
all on the right track for a little while

Student Procedures:
1. Students will work on
worksheet
2. Students discuss their
results on the
worksheets and figure
out if they are on the
right track for a little
while

Closure:

The whole class will have a discussion over plants and animal cells together and
after discussion I will collect the worksheets.

ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE:
Students will be graded based on accuracy and participation
Criteria
Participation
Accuracy

1
Students was not
engaged in
activity
Student labeled
parts of plant
and animal cells
incorrectly

2
Student was
barely engaged
in activity
Student labeled
a small amount
of the parts of
plant and animal
cells correctly

3
Student was
mostly engaged
in activity
Student labeled
mostly all parts
of plant and
animal cells
correctly

4
Student was fully
engaged in
activity
Student labeled
all parts of plant
and animal cells
