Annotated Bibliography (MLA)
1. This source is going to help me develop my knowledge about habits among people. The
studies that have been conducted in this book show the effects of having good, bad, and
any other general habits that people have throughout their lives. This source wont carry
over to addictions and depression but will be informative for peoples everyday habits.
This will be a good source for the habits of most people now days but a bad source for
the all-around aspects of our topic because it doesnt address anything more than habits.

House, 2012.

2. This article is great to show how adolescents are so in favor of drinking at such young
ages as well as how easily accessible it is. This source is going to be a good resource to
use for the effects of alcohol caused accidents and accessibility of alcohol to anyone. The
sources limits are at alcohol because they dont discuss any other substance aside from
alcohol and the effects of alcohol. The source is very strong in the sense that it is
extremely detailed in the effects that alcohol can have on people long term and short term
but weak because it doesnt go past alcohol affects.

Drinking Be Prevented?" National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, U.S

3. This source is great for the aspects of prescription drugs because there are studies done
on prescription drugs and their effects on young adults. This resource will be useful
because I dont yet have any background or resources on prescription drugs and I need
some because that is a significant part when it comes to depression and suicidal
experiences. This source will be limited to the prescription drugs substance but will be
valuable in the effects aspect. The strengths of this source are that it has a lot of
information on the effects such as depression and suicide but is also weak because it only
talks about prescription drugs.

Suggests." Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, 07 Oct. 2015. Accessed 14 Nov. 2016.

4. This source is going to be good for the effect aspect of our project coming from bullying.
I will use this source more for the aspects of the effects from bullying. The source limits
to the effects that are caused on adolescents because it only associates with bullying. The
strength of this source is that it includes a lot of results on depression and suicide from
bullying, which is the weakness as well because it only discusses bullying. This source
will help our project because it is going to be a great piece to the puzzle of the effects that
bullying can have on people our age.

5. This source is going to be a good foundation for the effects of cyberbullying. I chose to
find a resource that will provide information on the effects of cyberbullying to go along
with bullying as cyberbullying is just as big of a bullying source as physical bullying is.
This source limits to cyberbullying but will provide information that is relevant to the
effects on teenagers and young adults that can lead to depression and suicide. The
strength of this source is the in-depth studies and data that has been collected and shown,
while the only weakness it has is that it doesnt discuss any other act other than
cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is becoming a more relevant topic as time goes on because
technology is a lot more efficient than it used to be, making it simpler to do our daily
tasks & bad actions through it.

6. This source is going to be a piece of the information we need for the negative habits that
people can accumulate. The use of the source is going to be to provide information that
will relate to the book on habits that I will use as a resource as well. The limitation of this
resource is that it focuses primarily on the eating habits that people have and how that
effects their health leading to depression. This source is strong because it gives a lot of
insight on the effects of ones bad eating habits and how it can affect one in the long term.

4
The weakness of this source is that it doesnt discuss much of the other actions past the
negative eating habits, but will be a good piece to the whole topic we are researching.

Source for Science News, American Association for the Advancement of Science, 3 Nov.

7. This source is going to be a great asset to our research because the idea of mindfulness
compares with depression and the lack of thinking outside the box. I will use this source
to provide information of how mindfulness helps treat depression and/or depression-like
symptoms. This article shows how easily people are depressed and shows one of the best
ways to handle it. Its limitations are that there is no data on how people develop
depression or have trauma or suicidal thoughts. This sources strengths are that it has great
data on the amount of people with depression and how to help it, but it is weak because it
doesnt provide data or anything on what may cause the depression or suicidal symptoms.

8. This source is going to be another piece of the effects from bad habits because it gives
insight on how people can end up with depression and suicidal thoughts or actions from
not getting the rest the need. This source is going to be useful because it is relevant to
how negative actions or habits can take a long-term toll on oneself if. The limitations of
this resource are that it doesnt discuss anything more than sleeping habits. The strength
of the resource is the information it provides on long term psychological effects from one

not treating their body as they should. The weakness of this source is the fact that it
doesnt discuss any actions past the small section that is bad sleeping habits. This source
will be interesting because it shows how a natural act can take such a toll on ones body
and future psychological responses.

9. This resource is going to be helpful because it is another drug that falls right in line with
our topic of drug use and the effects of it. This is going to be useful because it will fit in
to the other sources that I have found on the other types of drugs. The limitations of this
resource are that it only discusses heroin taking out other substances or addictions. This
source is strong because it goes into detail with the long term effects of doing heroin
which fits in to the rest of the data I have found. This source is going to be a good piece
to the overall research because it adds to everything we have found so far, adding to the
rest of the research we have.

10. This source is a great foundation for the project because it gives good information on the
relevance of our topic leading to the effects. I will use this source to show how many
young adults are getting into substances they shouldnt be getting in to. This source is
limited to the actions and does not provide a lot of information on the effects of young
adults and their relation with substances. The strength of this source is that it reveals all
the acts of young adults and their usage of substances. The weakness is that it provides no
information on the effects of young adults using these substances. Before I can begin to

6
make any assumptions or guesses on the effects of substances on young adults leading to
depression I must first reveal the fact that young adults do use and sometimes abuse
substances.
