At Lewis University you are student teaching your last semester. The opportunity to teach internationally
is in Brazil at a school called Rio de Janiero.

2. In your own words describe the edTPA process. What will you be required to do to complete this
portion of your license requirement? How are you assessed and what can you do if you are unsuccessful
the first time?
The edTPA is a performance-based assessment consisting of planning, instruction,
assessment, reflection and academic language. We need to upload a portfolio to Pearsons site.
The portfolio needs to include lesson plans, work samples, analysis of student learning,
planning and assessment documentation, and a video of ourselves student teaching/interacting
with students.
Were assessed by Pearsons trained evaluators on a number scoring scale. The passing score
for Elementary education is a 35. Retakes are allowed.
