istrict of Columbia) and who currently
teach grades 24 or have a child in grades 24 are eligible to enter their students entries, except for those who have family m
embers living in the same household employed by Scholastic Inc., ABC Cable

Define a problem that your robot solves, and explain how your robot works:

the Submission.
(a) MAIL ENTRY: Teacher Participants and/or parents or legal guardians
may submit a copy of the Submission on behalf of the Student Participants via
mail (Mail Entry). All Mail Entries must be postmarked by January 9, 2017 and
received by January 16, 2017.

(b): ONLINE ENTRY
Teacher Participants and/or parents and/or legal guardians may submit a
Submission online at scholastic.com/robots-of-the-future on behalf of the
Student Participant (Online Entry). Online Entries must be uploaded to
scholastic.com/robots-of-the-future by January 9, 2017. Student Participants
cannot upload their own Online Entries.
Submission shall mean and refer to each Mail Entry and Online Entry.
ALL SUBMISSIONS, whether submitted by mail or online, must include the
following information:
Student Participants name
Student Participants grade level
Name of Teacher Participant designated by Student Participant to
receive a prize for himself/herself if Student Participant is declared a
Contest winner.
Student Participants school name
Student Participants school city/state
Name, email address and phone number of Student Participants parent
or legal guardian
By uploading or mailing a Submission, you agree that the Submission conforms
to the Submission Content Guidelines as defined below, and that Scholastic, in
its sole discretion, may remove your Submission and disqualify you from the
Contest if it believes your Submission fails to conform to the Submission Content
Prize shall mean and refer to each Grand Prize and Teacher Recognition Prize.
No cash substitutions for Prizes. In the event of Prize unavailability, a Prize of
equal or greater value will be awarded as determined by Scholastics sole
discretion. Prizes are nontransferable. All federal, state, and local taxes, if any,
are the sole responsibility of the Winners and the parent or legal guardian
thereof. Subject to all applicable laws.
8. CONDITIONS: In addition, by entering this Contest and/or accepting any Prize
you may win, you agree that: [1] you have all rights, permissions and consents
necessary to grant the rights to Scholastic and ACNG as expressed herein; [2]
you will abide by and be bound by the Official Rules and the Scholastic and
ACNGs decisions and Privacy Policy; [3] you waive all rights in and to the
Submission and it will not be returned; [4] you release and hold harmless the
Releasees from any and all liability for claims, injuries, losses or damages of any
kind, including without limitation, death and bodily injury, resulting, in whole or in
part, directly or indirectly, from the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse,
possession, loss or misdirection of any Prize; participation in the Contest or any
contest-related activity or from any interaction with, or downloading of, computer
Contest information; [5] the Prizes are awarded AS IS and WITHOUT
WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any
implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose), and the
Releasees do not make any representation, warranty or guarantee, express or
implied, relating to the Contest or Prizes [6] a Winners acceptance of a Prize
constitutes the grant to Scholastic and ACNG and assigns of an unconditional right
to use Winner's name, address (city and state only), voice, likeness, photograph,
biographical and prize information and/or statements about the Contest for any
programming, publicity, advertising and promotional purposes without additional
compensation, except where prohibited by law; [7] in the event viruses, bugs,
unauthorized human intervention, Acts of God, acts or regulations of any
governmental or supra-national authority, war, national emergency, accident, fire,
riot, strikes, lock-outs, industrial disputes, acts of terrorism or other matters
beyond Scholastics reasonable control, corrupt, prevent or impair the
administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest, so that it cannot
be conducted as originally planned, except where prohibited by law, Scholastic
has the right, in its sole discretion, to modify the Official Rules or to cancel,
modify, terminate or suspend the Contests; and in such event, to select a Winner
by such method as Scholastic in its sole discretion shall consider equitable; [8]
the Releasees are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or
administration of this Contest, including but not limited to: errors in the advertising,
Official Rules, selection and announcement of the Winners and distribution of the
Prizes; [9] any portion of any Prize not accepted or used by any Winner will be
forfeited; [10] the Releasees are not responsible for any inability of any Winner to
accept or use any Prize (or any portion thereof) for any reason; [11] Scholastic has
the right, at any time and at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it
suspects to be doing any of the following: (a) tampering or attempting to tamper
with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; (b) violating the Official
Rules; (c) violating the terms of service, privacy policy or other terms, conditions
of use and/or general rules or guidelines of any Contest property or service; (d)
acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse,
threaten or harass any other person or (e) for any other good cause as
determined solely by Scholastic; [12] Scholastic has the right to lock out an
entrant whose eligibility is in question or who has been disqualified or is
otherwise ineligible to enter the Contest ; [13] since any attempt by any individual
to damage or undermine the legitimate operation of this Scholastic is a violation
of these Official Rules as well as criminal and civil laws, and should Scholastic
believe or become aware that such an attempt has been, is being, or will be
made, it has the right to seek remedies and damages from any responsible
individuals to the fullest extent permitted by law, including without limitation
criminal prosecution; [14] all disputes, claims and causes of action at law or in
equity (individually, Claim) arising out of or relating to this Contest, the meaning
or interpretation of the Official Rules or any Prize awarded shall be resolved by
applying the laws of California, without regard to conflict of laws provisions
therein, and shall be solely and exclusively brought in the state or federal courts
within that state; [15] all Claims shall be resolved individually, without resort to
any form of class action; [16] all Claims, judgments and awards shall be limited
to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event include attorneys fees, and
under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and
hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, special, consequential
damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses
and waives all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; [17]
Scholastic has the right to modify prize award procedures at its sole discretion;
[18] the Winners acceptance of the Prize constitutes the grant of an
unconditional right to ACNG and assigns to photograph, film, or otherwise
capture any creative content in the Submission (Creative Content) and ACNG
shall have the unconditional right to reproduce, distribute, display, exhibit,
transmit, broadcast, stream, synchronize with visual material, modify, amend,
create derivative works, and otherwise use and permit others to use the Creative
Content throughout the universe in any and all media now known or hereafter
