Awarded a USTA Grant Bennettsvillle Intermediate Schools physical education department, under the direction of Mr. S. Usher, received a $250.00 grant from the United States Tennis Association. This award allows our school to receive ten racquets and four cases of tennis balls. We look forward to exposing BIS students to new opportunities because of this grant. Also in PE news, students are currently pre-testing in fitness tests and sixth graders are taking the Pacer Test to test their cardio-respiratory endurance.

Visual Arts Update
Aside from creating patterns via CRAZY HAIR, the visual arts students at BIS recently finished work involving Christmas cards for a district-wide contest. Also, art students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades recently completed their original papier mache piatas. There is always something interesting happening in art so be on the lookout for what is coming up next in Mrs. C. A. Millers class! A man paints with his brains and not with his hands. Michelangelo
On Wednesday, December 14th,
the 5th and 6th grades will perform. There will be songs and student produced collaborations by Ms. A. Eaddys students. The BIS Sixth Grade Band, under the direction of Mr. J. Learn, also will perform. On Thursday, December 15th, there will be a performance given by the 3rd and 4th grades. We hope to hear from our GT Music Members on both days also. We are sending out at special thank you to all the third grade students who are able to participate in the PTO on Tuesday, December 5th. Miracles can happen with short notice! http://mseaddy.weebly.com/
