Poster Board Directions

1. Read your secondary source with your group to determine the plan
from the Constitutional Convention that is being described. You will
chose one of the following plans, and write the plan on your poster:
a. Virginia Plan
b. New Jersey Plan
c. Connecticut Plan (Great Compromise)
d. 3/5 Compromise
e. Commerce Compromise
2. Answer the guiding questions and write your answers on your poster
board. Guiding questions:
a. What were the three most important points of the
plan/compromise?
b. What type of states did the plan/compromise appease?
3. Work with your group to determine the effect your compromise had
on the nation and what side (Federalists or Anti-Federalists, Northern or
Southern states) would have supported it. Use the following to help
guide your group to the answer:
a. Discuss with your group around the following guiding questions:
i. What was the purpose of your plan or compromise?
ii. What effect did the plan or compromise have on the US?
iii. Would the Federalists of Anti-Federalists have supported
your plan or compromise, if applicable? Would the Northern
or Southern states have supported the plan or
compromise, if applicable? How do you know?
4. Your group will then present to the class.
