About ProcessDemo_SMALL _AddOn HART

Overview Of The Demo
Purpose
The purpose of this demo is to show the Premier Integration of HART data from enabled IO
modules into the FieldCare Asset Management package. FieldCare is developed by our Process
partner Endress & Hauser.
FieldCare is an FDT(Field Device Tool) compliant asset management package it interfaces to the
plant via DTMs.
Field Device Tool - Field Device Tool is the name of the standard itself. FDT standardizes the
communication between field devices and systems. It is independent of the communication protocol
and vendor and is established as an open standard.
Device Type Manager - A Device Type Manager is a software component representing a device. .It
encapsulates device-specific data, functions, and business rules.
Objectives
Use a new Logix 5000 file and HART enabled IO modules to communicate with FieldCare via the
Spectrum Connects software. HART enabled IO has the benefit of a digital fieldbus with the
simplicity of regular IO. There is an advantage to customers requiring the ability to fix problems
using a screwdriver as opposed to more complex Fieldbus software and configuration.

Configure VMWare Networking

Unzip the VMWare File

If you copy the VMWare file from the DVD, it will temporarily attempt to store it on the C drive even
if you are copying it to a different drive. If you do not have enough memory available on the C drive
it will not copy. A method to get around this is to select the file and extract it to your specified
directory.
Configure VMWare
Before launching the VMWare session, it is necessary to configure the Virtual Network settings
within the host.
1. With the VMWare Workstation window open, click Edit
2. Select Virtual Network Settings.

3.

The Virtual Network Editor Screen appears. Select the Host Virtual Network Mapping tab.

4. Select any of the available VMNetx items and ensure it points to the network adapter in your
computer that will be connected to the switch that has the 1756ENBT card on it. Your screen
WILL be slightly different that the screen shown above. Make a note of the VMNetx you
chose. (Vmnet3 or Vmnet4 for example).
5. Next, use VMWare to browse to or open the applicable session. DO NOT start the session
yet.
6. Finally, we must make this particular session use the network adapter we specified above.

7. Double click the Device named Ethernet as shown above.

8. Check the Custom radio button and ensure the dropdown box has your VMnetx setting
displayed.

9. Congratulations! You can now start the session after connecting all the Ethernet cables and
switches.
10. Be certain to load the controller project before starting SE or other sessions.
11. Setup the IP address of the VMWare Ethernet to 192.168.100.1 To make sure you can get
in touch with the Logix rack, open the DOS window and Ping to 192.168.100.10. You now
should get response from the Logix system.

12. Start the View SE Client when the VMware image is fully expanded. To obtain this click
not , the full features of the SE screens will not be installed (i.e. The top and bottom banner).

. If

CheckPoint VPN client running

It is not recommended to install the VPN client into the session. The firewall will impact the various
services that attempt to communicate over Ethernet including, but not limited to, RSView SE, Bootp,
Rslinx, RSFieldBus etc.
Additionally, even though the VPN client is on the Host Operating system, there are still issues as
the client impacts the host PCs socket services that Vmware must also use. For example, the
email portion of the demo, even though inside the VM session, will not function if the VPN is running
on the Host.
To disable the client, you version must allow being stopped.
1. Right click the icon.

2. View the popup menu that appears.

If your menu does not allow stopping the client. You cannot stop it. Contact your IT
department and request the version that allows this feature.

3. We must unbind the CheckPoint SecuRemote from the Ethernet adapter. This is
accomplished via the connection properties screen. (Same place you would set the
IP address)
4. Uncheck the box circled below. This may require rebooting the Host PC. If so, after
the reboot, you will have to stop the client again.

5. Please note that your VPN client will no longer function until the box is checked and
rebooted again.
