strength to accomplish our project paper on Managerial Accounting (AMAB 213).

ABSTRACT

Purpose To be able to differentiate between Management Accounting and Financial


Accounting.

Design / methodology / approach The quantitative research was conducted by conducting


an interview with the staff and the Manager of Cool Blog Sdn. Bhd. The deductive logic was
used to verify the hypothesis.

Findings The general Malaysian consumer profiles were identified. The hypothesis were
proven that social media can be a valuable tool and channel for marketing communications.

Originality / Value The conducted study added the knowledge to the indicated information
gap in academic literature regarding the different between managerial and business
accounting from the consumer perspective. It defined the main tools and tested the consumer
perceptions about the possible practices.

INTRODUCTION

Background story of the Company


First launched in Singapore in 2005, COOLBLOG is an international brand that specializes in
desserts and beverages in a take-away kiosk concept. COOLBLOG aim to marry the natural
fruit's taste with the ice blended. We are the first to break new ground in Singapore and
Malaysia food scene by introducing dessert and beverages with 25 flavors and 300 products
range.

Jerrene Pang, 39, created COOL BLOG, the 100% truly One Malaysia food culture
in 2008 with a start-up capital of RM50,000. Today, COOLBLOG has become the leading
dessert and beverages brand with 350 outlets in Malaysia and Indonesia, with a total revenue
of RM 70 million, employing more than 1,500 people, of whom 90% are female. She has also
assisted many young female entrepreneurs to set up their own business through the proven
successful COOL BLOG franchise concept.

COOL BLOG new vision is The Coolest Blog from Malaysia to Asia and Beyond.
COOL BLOG has also been selected as one of the top 50 companies in the country to join the
mid-tier company programmed organized by Matrade and McKinsey & Co. to promote the
brand beyond Malaysia.

Vision and Mission

CoolBlog has outlined a three years growth plan to bring the total number of Coolblog outlets
in Singapore and Malaysia to at least 150 outlets. This vision was achieved in year 2011.
Coolblog has set another vision to raise the total number to 400 outlets in the coming 2 years
and to be the leading and largest chain outlets in Malaysia that specialize in tea taste beverage
and ice blended products.

CoolBlog mission is to provide customer the finest quality of dessert and beverages in the
most efficient time. To derive satisfaction of "Thanks", "Smile" and "Gratitude" from every
Coolblog customer.
