A celebration of contemporary French food, wine, and the art of living!
The 2nd annual French Food Festival, la carte 2016 took place October 19-30, 2016, bringing 11 exciting days
of French food festivities to Chicagoland and cities all over the Midwest including in Kansas, Indiana,
Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

specially-crafted menus or offers,
and/or hosted great events!

place in Chicago, Minneapolis, and

raffle, including the grand prize of a
trip for two to Lyon, the capital of

My Favorite French Dish or Pastry Contest for K-12 Students
Students in French classes from all over the Midwest were invited to participate in the My Favorite French
Dish or Pastry Contest. Over 80 students showcased their talents and appreciation for French food through
drawings, paintings, videos, essays, and poems. Winners were awarded with special prizes courtesy of the
Cultural Services of the French Consulate in Chicago and la carte 2016!

la carte 2016s events were varied and very well-attended. The following events were at full capacity:

19 amazing prizes were given to lucky winners of the la carte 2016 raffle, including the grand prize
of a trip for two to Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy! The grand prize Lyon Package included:
2 roundtrip Premium Economy tickets Paris-Chicago courtesy of Air France
2 roundtrip 1st class TGV (high speed train) tickets Paris-Lyon courtesy of Rail Europe
2 night stay at luxurious Le Royal Hotel Lyon
2 day guided tour of Lyon including a visit to Institut Paul Bocuse
Dinner for 2 at Le Sud Restaurant, a Paul Bocuse Restaurant

The la carte 2016 official website generated significant traffic leading up to and during the festival. As noted in the
Google Analytics Report, our website was visited 67,311 times; 10.7% by Returning Visitors and 89.3% by New
Visitors.

la carte 2016s most active and effective digital marketing tools were Twitter and Facebook. Other social media platforms utilized include: Instagram, Google +, LinkedIn, and Tumblr.

Advertising
la carte 2016 acquired advertising space in Chicagos most popular event and entertainment guides:
DNA Info Chicago, Chicago Reader, Time Out Chicago and Choose Chicago.

Television Appearances
la carte 2016 organizers and participants Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer and Chef Dominique Tougne were guests
on local news broadcasts where they shared a recipe and featured la carte 2016 French Food Festival.
