Adjetivos

Para comparar adjetivos en oraciones afirmativas utilizamos la


estructura:
as + ... + as
Peter is as happy as Mary.
Peter es tan feliz como Mary.
Para comparar adjetivos en oraciones negativas utilizamos la
estructura:
not as + .... + as
not so + .... + as
Peter is not as happy as Mary.
Peter is not so happy as Mary.
Peter no es tan feliz como Mary.
Detrs del segundo 'as' puede ir un pronombre sujeto, un pronombre
objeto o el sujeto seguido del auxiliar correspondiente
Peter is not as happy as she.
Peter is not as happy as her.
Peter is not as happy as she/Mary is.
Peter no es tan feliz como ella.

Sustantivos

Cuando la comparacin se hace entre dos sustantivos se usa:


As much ... as para los sustantivos incontables.
As many .... as para los contables (en plural).
I earn as much money as my husband.
Gano tanto dinero como mi marido.
She has as many dresses as you.
Tiene tantos vestidos como t.

Verbos
Cuando la comparacin se hace entre dos verbos se puede usar la
expresin as much as + auxiliar correspondiente (tanto en oraciones
afirmativas como en negativas).
He doesnt play as much as he should.
No juega tanto como debera.
