Elijah Cummings
U.S. Representative
United States House of Representatives
1010 Park Avenue, Suite 105
Baltimore, MD 21201
Dear Mr. Cummings:
A president is one who runs the country. On November 9, 2016, Donald Trump won the 2016
Presidential election, even though he had no experience in politics or in the armed forces. From
the beginning of the election, there have been claims stating that Trump is not qualified or fit to
be president because of his lack of experience with in politics, his campaigns, and business
experience. Trump is incompetent to be president because he is crass, prejudice, and lacks
consistency. Trump team and supporters are also a major reason why Trump should not be
president. It is strongly suggested that we as Americans come together to prevent Trump and his
team and supporters from destroying the progress this country has made. However, we all need
to come together despite our differences and be one United States because first we are
Americans.
The president has to handle many agreements between other nations to prevent wars or loss of
resources, therefore, he/she is expected to be cultured, careful, and sensitive. Though this is what
is expected of a president, our 45th president is the absolute opposite. Trump is very crass, so this
is concerning to as what can come from these meetings with our foreign relations. His lack of
sensitivity can cause serious problems between our foreign relations and start a war or end of the
trade of a major resource. A president is also expected to handle major issue within the U.S. and
our foreign relations. However, Trump lacks consistency, so what can we expect of Trumps
reaction to serious dilemmas that need to be redressed immediately? During many interviews,
Trump has proven to America that he is very indecisive; which can be very dangerous for
America.

We should go in, we should stop this guy, which would be very easy and very
quick....We should do it on a humanitarian basis, immediately go into Libya, knock this
guy out very quickly, very surgically, very effectively, and save the lives.

We would be so much better off if Gaddafi were in charge right now.

-Donald Trump, 10th Republican debate
The president is supposed to be one for all people, and to unite us all. The next president of the
U.S.A. says he is for all people, but then says on his first in office he will deport millions of

undocumented immigrants living in America, start the process of building a wall between the
U.S. and Mexico, and suspend the admission of Syrian refugees (Trump). President ElectTrump will divide us as a nation, but also divide us from our foreign relations. Trump and his
team and supporters have proven to us that they are sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, and
some are even white nationalist and supremacist. All of which are characteristics that contradict
the expected qualities of a president and will keep us from being a United States.
A presidents cabinet is expected to support the goal of uniting ones country and expanding our
foreign relations, but also to protect people of their rights. Though his cabinet has not been
appointed yet, the people behind him, who are expected to be a part of his team; have shown the
world how they feel about other races, religious groups, LGBT members, and the current
government policies. Many of them have agreed to forceful removal of people and immediate
removal of current policies. Trumps VP has even proposed a law that will allow for businesses
to discriminate against members of the LGBT community, which is just immoral. Also, Trump
supporters have already been using verbal and physical force against minorities and anyone who
is against Trump, so we can expect even worst actions from them after Trump is inaugurated.

America now needs to pay attention because there is a huge possibility of society moving
backwards. There has not been election so divided by race since the reconstruction era also
known as the Jim Crow era. So America needs to be ready to stand.
Sincerely,

Yul Paige Jr.
