Lowpass
Exercise 1
Oscillogram of the output signal as a function of the input signal
Connect the lowpass input of the
highpass/lowpass module SO
4201- 6W to the function
generator (frequency 100Hz,
amplitude 20%, 1:1, sinewave).
Switch on the function generator.
Select the RC-combination R =
8.2k, C = 10nF.
Connect the input of the circuit to
channel A+, the output to channel
B+ of the UniTrain-Interface.
Connect the negative inputs Aand B- to ground.
Start the oscilloscope
. Select a
timebase of 2ms/div; set the
vertical deflection of both channels
A and B to 2V/div.
Start the measurement
. To
obtain a stationary display, trigger
on channel A.
Channel A =
V/div DC
Channel B =
V/div DC
Change the frequency to f = 4 kHz (oscilloscope timebase, 500s). Evaluate the result.
Result:
X=

Channel A =
V/div DC
Channel B =
V/div DC
Evaluation:
The output voltage

Exercise 2
Determining the Bode diagram for the circuit
for
Logarithmic step-width,
Value 100,
Amplitude 5V,
4 measurements
Determine the limit frequency f3dB of the circuit where the output voltage has fallen by
3dB compared to the input voltage. What is the phase angle at f = f 3dB?
Typical results:

Exercise 3
Quantitative measurement of the limit frequency of the lowpass
The exact value of the limit frequency will now be measured using the same settings as
in the oscilloscope measurement (see Fig. 1), but this time, Voltmeter B is used as a
test instrument. Open the virtual instrument "Voltmeter B" via the menu Instruments /
Measuring instruments and set the measurement range to 2V. Set the measurement
mode to PP (peak-to-peak).
First, calculate the limit frequency, f3dB.
Typical result:
