Sherwin Rivera: President Benigno Aquino III said Monday that he is not worried by the
reported plan of Sen. Grace Poe to run for president. "Worried? Why should we be worried of her
announcing her plans? We really would like to hear what she says. Are we worried? No, we are not
worried," Aquino said in an interview with reporters in Iloilo. Poe will formally announce her presidential
bid this Wednesday, according to earlier reports. With Poe still the most popular presidential bet in the
latest surveys, Aquino insisted that the Liberal Party (LP) is trying to veer away from popularity-based
politics. The LP is still courting Poe to be the running mate of the party's standard-bearer, Interior and
Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II. Aquino had said that the administration coalition during the

2013 elections should be maintained. Poe was with the same alliance when she topped the senatorial
polls. The president refused to name the possible vice presidential candidates that the LP is now eyeing.
Aquino formally endorsed Roxas in July as his preferred successor, saying the interior secretary is capable
of continuing the reforms of the administration. In a media forum last week, Aquino said he chose
Roxas over Poe because of his experience. On the other hand, the president was still hoping

derail the countrys hosting of this years Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, a Palace
official assured yesterday. Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr.
maintained that all hands are on deck to ensure the successful conduct of the APEC meetings, that will
culminate in the leaders summit this November. Last Saturday, Domingo tendered his resignation letter
to President Aquino in the middle of the APEC meetings hosted by the country. The Palace officials,
however, are still unaware about the reason behind the resignation of Domingo from the Aquino Cabinet
and there was no official word yet on his replacement in the DTI. Deputy Presidential Spokeswoman
Abigail Valte expressed confidence that Domingos departure will not adversely affect the governments
preparations in the APEC meetings. Secretary Domingo has a very capable team in DTI that handles
trade-related matters in APEC. she added. Domingo was part of the Presidents Cabinet economic
cluster widely credited for implementing prudent fiscal management that led to strong economic growth
and positive credit rating actions.

APEC hosting a big success, Coloma said in a text message to reporters.

"Until the end of the filing period, I dont think we are giving up. Iba pa rin yung we get united," Aquino said.
"So we are hoping that there is less division amongst the forces that are allied in 'Daang Matuwid' and thereby ensure
that there is continuity," he added.

Enrique Gil apologizes for drunken incident

Enrique Gil finally speaks up on his reported drunken incident while on a plane to London last week.
On Thursday, entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal reported that Enrique was allegedly drunk
and created a scene on the plane en route to an "ASAP 20" show in London.

The report added the young actor had an altercation which involved Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola.

In an interview with ABS-CBN's news program "TV Patrol" aired Friday, Enrique apologized for the incident.

"I had some drinks sa plane more than I should be having so as a result things got out of hand," he said. "And
dahil po dun I want to apologize to my brothers and sisters from Star Magic, I sincerely apologize to Jessy
(Mendiola), to JM (de Guzman, Jessys boyfriend) if ever I offended them in any way, so I really am sorry.

Enrique added: "Tao lang nagkakamali, we all make mistakes but you own up to it, you learn from it and you move
forward."

The 23-year-old actor also thanked his fans for their support amid the controversy.
