The assigned values of the UIBC Calibrator have been made
traceable to the theoretical UIBC value based on
measurement of transferring and iron.
Transferrin is traceable to the IFCC/BCR/CAP Reference
Material CRM 470 using established protocols. Iron is
traceable to standard reference material SRM 682 using
established protocols. The calibrator values listed below are
specific for this lot number of calibrator only.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
1. Each individual blood donation used for production of the
UIBC Calibrator was found to be non-reactive when
tested with approved methods for HBsAg, anti-HIV 1+2
and anti-HCV. As there is no possibility to exclude
definitely that products derived from human blood
transmit infectious agents, it is recommended to handle
the calibrator with the same precautions used for patient
specimens.
2. Contains sodium azide (0.95 g/L) as preservative. Do not
swallow! Avoid contact with skin and mucous
membranes.

3. Fr die Herstellung des UIBC-Kalibrators wurden nur
Blutspenden verwendet, die bei der Untersuchung durch
zugelassene Methoden fr HBsAg, anti-HIV 1+2 und antiHCV negative reagierten. Da keine Mglichkeit besteht,
definitiv auszuschlieen, dass die aus menschlichem Blut
gewonnenen Produkte Krankheitserreiger bertragen,
wird empfohlen, den Kalibrator mit denselben
Vorsichtsmanahmen
wie
Patientenproben
zu
behandeln.
