Check each objective is it specific? Is it achievable? Is it developmentally
appropriate?
Teacher Performance Objectives During the lesson the teacher will:
1. Keep students on task by having a variety of activities and tasks.
2. Provide at least 3 positive specific and 3 corrective specific piece of
feedback to each student throughout the lesson.
3. Provide clear instructions to have smooth smooth transitions by grouping
the students prior to class time.
Special Considerations What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the
students in this class?
We will be inside so students need to keep in consideration that the space
is smaller and there are walls.
It is important that students know this is not tackle football. Safety must
be emphasized during the lesson and be aware that there is no tackling allowed.

Safety- We want to be careful of the walls
inside. we have such a small area we want to
look out for others. Keep your head up during
gameplay.
Today we are going to be playing football
and adding defense to make it a modified
game.
We want to remember that going to open
space is important during flag football for
offensive strategies.
Coming up with defensive strategies is
important as well, before each play both
teams should huddle up and make
strategies.

*After informing, split up students into 4
teams.
Demonstration: Review the rules, then
will call on students to repeat rules back
to her
Transition: Students Will then split into their
teams for activity 1.
Activity 1: Shark and Minnow Route Tag
(teaching style - practice)
The class will be split into 2 teams, 8 students
acting as sharks and the rest as minnows.
The minnows will line up across the baseline
and on the teacher's command, they will have
to try to get to the other side of the court
without getting their flag pulled by a shark.
The only way for the minnows to run is to use
one of their running routes. They can finish
on the opposite side of the court, or run to
one of the adjacent sides (if they choose
square in or square out). If a minnow chooses
to run a square in or square out, they must
reach the half court line before running to an
adjacent sideline. If a minnow gets their flag
pulled, they will now become a shark and the
game continues until all the minnows are
turned to sharks or time runs out.
Extension down: Teacher can make a bigger
play areas
Start with less amount of sharks
Extension up: teacher can give a time limit
for the minnows to get across the field
Demonstration: Ms. Flagg will demonstrate
with students on the court
Transition: From the Activity 1 to a semicircle
around Ms. Flagg for the miniclosure and
introduction of Activity 2
Mini Closure:
What is something you think helped make
each of your team's successful in this
activity?

What route worked the best for you in this

activity?
Knowing all the different routes to run
Fly, Combo
-

Demo if necessary
Pinpoint if appropriate

Activity 2: 5v5
(teaching style: Practice)
Teams of 5 will be assigned by Ms. Flagg and
Ms. Duncan and matched against another
team on the court. Only one running play is
allowed within four downs. Two completed
passes within 4 downs earns the offense a
first down. Getting the ball into the end zone
will score a touchdown. If a team fails to get a
first down, the other team gets the ball going
the other direction. Because the class is held
inside, the teams will throw off to each other
to start the play instead of kicking off.
Extension up: Make the end zone smaller
Students can try using their non-dominant
hand to grab the flag
Extension down: Teacher can make the end
zone bigger
Demonstration: Ms. Flagg and Ms. Duncan
will point out the fields and explain how the
game will be played
Transition: Students will collect equipment
around them and meet in the semicircle
around Ms. Flagg and Ms. Duncan for a
miniclosure
Miniclosure: How did everyone feel about
this game play? Was it challenging? What
team strategies worked well for your team?
Good,
Game like- realistic
Using a variety of the routes instead of
using the same one every time.
-

Pinpoint if appropriate

Transition: Students will carry the equipment

they collected, and meet Ms. Flagg in the

semi circle spot for the lesson Closure

Closure:

Objective today?

for passing?

so proud of the way everyone
followed our football technique!
