Nearly a billion people worldwide lack

clean drinking water
How long can we go to the well -before it
runs dry?

y up the river of all its water leaving Bangalore thirsty

and repentant.
If we think about it, and look around we can see that all of
these buildings and this rapid urbanization is unplanned
and unaccounted for. As discussed earlier, these buildings
use bore well

School kitchens use water to cook delicious food

Cafeterias have drinking fountains and taps for hand
wash
Water fountains are sources for drinking water for
everyone
at school
Gardens use recycled water for trees and ornamental
plants.
Swimming pools use large amounts of water that are
continuously recycled at the STP.
Water is also used for mopping floors and cleaning
the classroom blackboards.
As far as we know, there are no leakages in the
school
Most water used in labs is consumed in the 2
chemistry and 2 biology labs of the senior block, and
the general science lab of the junior block.

The swimming pool uses around 5, 20,000 liters of water
a day. This water is reused by the second, but only for the
pool. The water supervisors Giri, Naresh and Muthu gave
us the required information to conduct our research.

TASK4 RAIN WATER

HARVESTING

Our school has a unique system of rain water harvesting.

Mr. Sridhar gave us the details of this system.

Swimming poolThe swimming pool uses around 5,20,000 liters a day.

This water is reused by the second but sent back to the
pool. The water supervisors Giri, Naresh and Muthu gave
us the required information to conduct our research.

During the summer season, the school relies mainly on

tankers, which bring in around 4344000 liters [724
tankers*6000 liters each] for consumption. This vast
amount of water drastically reduces during the rainy
season and the tankers bring in around 3048000 liters
[508 tankers*6000 liters each
