Level 3 water restrictions

Cape Town is on Level 3 water restrictions, which affects residential and commercial properties
Water-use restrictions and the accompanying higher tariffs are meant to encourage you to be more careful about
how you use water, and the level of water restrictions imposed depends on dam storage levels.

The City of Cape Towns Council approved the implementation of Level 3 water restrictions on 26 October 2016.
Restrictions have been in effect from 1 November 2016. Tariff changes took effect as of 1 December 2016. Fines for
Level 3 water restrictions were also implemented as of 1 December 2016. This is due to the City awaiting
authorisation from the courts, as well as allowing residents time to adapt to the new restrictions. Our enforcement
officers have been educating residents on Level 3 restrictions.

Reporting transgressions
When reporting transgressions please provide as much evidence as possible related to the incident, such as
photographs and specific details. We can only fine with evidence. If we do not have evidence, we will warn the
alleged transgressor that we have received a tip off, but be assured that we will not identify the person who
reported the transgression.

Vlak 3-waterbeperkings geld tans in Kaapstad en dit raak residensile en kommersile eiendomme
Die doel van beperkings op waterverbruik en die hor tariewe wat daarmee gepaard gaan, is om jou aan te moedig
om water met sorg te gebruik, en die vlak van waterbeperkings hang af van die watervlak van ons damme.
Die Stad Kaapstad se Raad het die inwerkingstelling van vlak 3-waterbeperkings op 26 Oktober 2016 goedgekeur.
Beperkings is sedert 1 November 2016 in werking. Tariefveranderinge tree op 1 Desember 2016 in werking. Boetes
ten opsigte van vlak 3-waterbeperkings tree ook op 1 Desember 2016 in werking. Dit is omdat die Stad magtiging
van die howe inwag, wat inwoners tyd toelaat om by die nuwe beperkings aan te pas. Ons wetstoepassingbeamptes

is besig om inwoners oor vlak 3-waterperkings in te lig.

Aansoek doen om vrystelling

Aanmelding van oortredings

Wanneer jy oortredings aanmeld, gee so veel moontlik bewyse oor die insident, soos fotos en spesifieke
besonderhede. Boetes kan slegs op grond van bewyse opgel word. Sonder bewyse, sal ons die oortreder waarsku
dat n wenk ontvang is, maar wees verseker dat die persoon wat die oortreding aangemeld het, nie gedentifiseer sal
word nie.
Die volgende metodes kan gebruik word om oortredings van waterbeperkings aan te meld:
