The new 2017 flower chart is

available in the west hallway. This is
an excellent way to remember a
loved one or a special occasion with
flowers on the altar. You can always pick up
your flowers after the late Sunday service or on
Monday morning in the church office. Flowers
that are left behind are delivered to a shut-in or
someone hospitalized. Thank you for all your
generous donations in the past and thank you
to Floral Expressions for sharing their talents!

Sermons are now available online @

www.facebook.com/stjohnsnorfolk
ALSO: If you missed the Majesty Choir
Cantata, you can view it in its entirety on
facebook.

Armchairs are available if you are in

need of an armed chair during worship.
Just ask an usher!

GOOD NEIGHBORS
UPDATE
I would like to thank
everyone from St.
John's who helped
make the Good
Neighbors food packing and delivery successful
again this year. I especially want to thank
Mandy Sterud for helping organize the packing
and delivery; Phil Sykes for getting all those
boxes from Lou's Thrifty Way -- many trips were
made; Mike Frank, Dan Pecka & Mike Kai for
bringing the food up from the Food Pantry early
Tuesday morning; Carol Sorsen and Carolyn
Wilcox for making the chili and those who
supplied bars and cookies for our workers and
delivery guys; everyone who helped pack the
boxes on Wednesday and who helped get
everything out the door on Thursday; and to
Jim Carter for setting up the tables and cleaning
up our mess after everyone else went home. It
was a lot of work but very enjoyable and heart
warming at the same time. I'm sure there were
some sore muscles when all was said and done!
Thank you everyone.

Merry
Christmas to
all of our
St. Johns
Family!

My heartfelt thanks to all members of the Majesty

Choir and those hwo joined us especially for our
presentation of the Christmas Cantata last weekend. I
am thankful for your steadfast ministry to the worship
life at St. Johns. Also, a big thank you to Justin
Murphy who helped with the sound!

Dear members of St. Johns,

Thank you so much for supporting Nebraska
Lutheran Campus Ministry (NeLCM) in Norfolk
through your regular giving to St. Johns. You
and so many other individuals, businesses,
organizations, and congregations have given
gifts which have made a huge difference in
providing a financial foundation as we continue
in our sixth year of campus ministry in Norfolk.
Please know that we are very grateful for all
of your support that you have given throughout
the years. This most current gift of $206.75 is
greatly appreciated! Your combined gift is an
answer to prayer, as it translates into providing
a pastoral ministry presence among those
students who are seeking to grow more deeply
into Jesus Christ and the community which
bears his name, so that they may discover and
fulfill their vocations as disciples.
Final exams were completed last week, and
NeLCM played an important role for students
by providing free food events (milk &
cookies Monday night & Breakfast-ToGo Tuesday morning). These events help
students & staff diffuse the stresses of the end
of the semester. During milk & cookies
Monday night, one student said, This just
makes my day! Thank you! By being a constant
presence where students can come visit with
me and share in Christian community with
other students, NeLCM offers Bible study and
Christian conversation where students can talk
through all of the challenges that they are
facing as they discern what it is that God is truly
calling them to do with their lives. Being a
campus pastor who gets to work with students,
cheer them on, and help them think through
ideas is an honor, a privilege, and very fun.
We thank you for your continued support!
Pastor Justin Wiese & the students of
NeLCM-Norfolk
