We must fear God, for this is the greatest love

one can have.

What we must do to live righteous and have peace before God?

We must first fear God before we can serve him; by the keeping of his
commandments we are obedient. Matthew 5:17-20 & 1 John 3:22-24

Deuteronomy 6:13
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

Deuteronomy 8:19
And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and
serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

Psalm 97:7
Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship
him, all ye gods.

Jeremiah 25:6
And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to
anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

Deuteronomy 10:12
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy
God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all
thy heart and with all thy soul,

Matthew 4:10
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the
Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Colossians 3:22
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as
menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God

Deuteronomy 30:20
That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that
thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou
mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac,
and to Jacob, to give them.

Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now
much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Jesus being blameless is the best example of how we are to serve God to gain eternal
salvation.
Hebrews 5:9
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that
obey him
We must fear God, for this is the greatest love
one can have.

Jesus came to fulfill the law so that we may have eternal life, but just as many are deceived in
believing that we are no longer under the law he required us to fear the Lord with the
understanding that he loves us.

Just as the relationship of a Father and his children. You fear not to do certain things, as
he loves you and you love him… this is obedience. But if we choose not to love one
another and/or disregards the consequences of keeping the law then this is disobedience.
For this reason God has to be feared for reverence of his mercy towards us. Jesus said, “if
we love him, keep his commandments” this is obedience to the law. John 14:15

Jude 1:21
Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring
you to eternal life.

Daniel 9:4-5
4And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the
great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to
them that keep his commandments;

5We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have
rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:

Deuteronomy 10:11-14
11And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may
go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

12And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD
thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with
all thy heart and with all thy soul,

13To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this
day for thy good?

Do remember that as servants of the Almighty God, we have prove all things in scripture.
Therefore for every word spoken, we should be ready to back it with scripture
according to the law and the testimony. Isaiah 8:20 , 2 Timothy 4:5 , Isaiah 43:9

2 Corinthians 13:3-6
3
Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is
mighty in you. 4For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the
power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of
God toward you. 5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own
selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be
reprobates? 6But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
We must fear God, for this is the greatest love
one can have.

May peace abide with you this day in Jesus as you receive it.
