THE

RUSSELL
REPORT
Dec. 27, 2016

Dear Prayer Partners:

Just a few days ago we celebrated the birth of Christ. But the complete
message of Christmas is to impact the way we live all year long. Come
Let Us Adore Him! Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow
down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. The shepherds did
that very thing and came to see the new born Child in the manger that
would become the Savior for the world. Luke 2:15-20 They
worshipped Him through their obedience to Him (vv.15-16). They
worshipped Him by telling others about Him (vv.17-19). And they
worshipped Him by seeking to please Him (v.20). Their encounter with
Jesus changed them forever. Then they humbly returned to their jobs
their lives, but as new men going back to the same old job but as
changed men. And they would never be the same again. May the message of Christmas change you and continue to
change you. Seek out the Lord Jesus and let Him change you forever. Its the best way we can come and adore Him!
First, we want to thank the 4 churches and 2 individuals that sent in a special Christmas offering for us. Money is
always tight for us at this time of year and that kind and generous expression of love is greatly appreciated! In our last
newsletter we mentioned we were $800 under-supported each month. This is not just for salary and insurance needs.
It also includes the total amount we need for ministry and travel funds making it possible for Nikki to travel with me
whenever we travel to the fields. She is a big help to the ladies and I surely prefer her to be by my side. This monthly
deficit has been reduced to $750 per month. Thanks for praying about this for us. We still have a ways to go but know
God is able. If you too would like to support us whether it be a one-time gift or a commitment to giving on a regular
basis (all gifts are tax deductible), one easy way to get started is to go to this link and follow the online process:

Our account number is #110033. Thank you for your prayers and
consideration. We are so grateful to you, our ministry partners.
2016 was a busy year for us with ministry trips to Cuba, Paraguay, Iquique-Chile, Santiago-Chile, Rio de JaneiroBrazil, Porto Alegre-Brazil, and ministry trips within the USA to Western PA, Northern MI, Southern PA, Northern
PA, Southwestern OH, Springfield IL, Chicago IL, Washington DC, Orlando FL, Atlanta GA, and Central IN.
2017 is lining up to be a busy year as well. Already we have been asked to come and help with ministry needs in Cuba
(again), Paraguay (again), Iguazu-Brazil, Iquitos-Peru, Nicaragua, the Amazon-Brazil, and other places. We are
praying about making a survey trip to Guyana (in Northern South America), and another one to the Dominican
Republic. We do not have any missionary presence in either of those places. Additionally, within the USA, we have
ministry trips planned for Southwestern MI, Northern PA, Southern PA, Northern GA, Central FL, Tennessee, and
Central OH, Additionally, I have been invited to serve as the Spanish Chaplain for the Harrisburg Senators, a AA
minor league baseball team for the Washington Nationals for the next baseball season. This is a non-paid position but

will give us contact with unsaved Latin Americans with whom we can share the gospel. We are excited about having
the opportunity to preach the gospel in Spanish to this unique group of individuals. Starting around mid 2017, we will
be beginning a type of furlough year reporting to our supporting churches. Our last furlough was 2012-2013. I say a
type of furlough because it will not be a normal furlough ministry in that we will still be making our normal ministry
trips overseas and doing everything else we normally do and just trying to squeeze in a furlough as we can. We are
starting to schedule churches even now for 2017 so if your church would like for us to come, please have the pastor or
missions committee get in contact with us. We look forward to seeing everyone!
We have great needs on many of our fields and need your help. If you are interested in going on a short term missions
trip, whether it be for a week, two weeks, a month, a year, or even two years, please get in contact with us. We have
Spanish speaking fields, Portuguese speaking fields, and English speaking fields. We need Bible teachers, biblical
counselors, school teachers, disciplers, camp workers, sports ministry workers, medical missions, aviation ministry,
crisis pregnancy centers, ESL ministries, and more.
On a personal note, our youngest son (Samuel) was married. He and his dear wife, Bibiana, have both enlisted in the
Air Force. His wife is currently in basic training in Texas and Samuel leaves for his basic training (also in Texas) on
Jan. 24. We celebrated a wonderful Christmas as a family. We attended a special service on Christmas eve and again
on Christmas day. We were reminded of our great Immanuel, which means, God with us. God is with us in the
hard times we do not have to face them alone. We are thankful for that!
Thanks again for all you do for our ministry and may 2017 be a wonderful year for you and your family.
Grateful for Your Prayers and Support,

Scott & Nikki Russell

2Cor. 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
Serving with ABWE
Hurricane Matthew made a direct hit on Haiti in October. Haiti
saw 145-mph winds, torrential rainfall, flooding, and 7 to 11 ft.
storm surges. The storm damaged homes, churches, businesses
and important infrastructure in communities still recovering from
the earthquake that struck in 2010 and killed 250,000. Flooding
and landslides have caused many Haitians to lose their farms.
Food and drinkable water are scarce and much rebuilding needs
done. At least 14,500 people have been displaced. We helping to
provide practical relief in the form of food, water, supplies, and
rebuilding. And of course sharing the gospel at every opportunity.
Please consider giving to the Haiti Relief Aid fund.

Ravaged by high unemployment, extreme poverty, and hunger,

Tangar, Nicaragua is one of the poorest communities in one of
the poorest countries on earth. But the Rayitos Feeding Center is
giving the children of Tangar hope. It provides body-nourishing
meals and the soul-nourishing gospel to 100-200 children each
week, and they need your support to keep the ministry going. A
gift of $200 feeds more than 100 children for a week. Please
prayerfully consider giving to the Rayitos Feeding Center in
Nicaragua.
