POLYLINES

Is an object consists of one or more line (or arc)


segments

Created using POLYLINE command by typing PL in


command line

Advantages:

They can have width (constant or varying)


They can consist of arcs and lines.
They can be edited
They can be joined together.
They can be exploded into individual segments

Close option truly closes a polyline

Use the C option while drawing to complete the


polyline, it will automatically be closed

BLEND BETWEEN OBJECTS WITH SPLINES

BLEND command creates a spline between


two selected object (lines, arcs, splines)

Blend curves join the endpoints of the two


objects with a curve

BLEND BETWEEN OBJECTS WITH SPLINES


Draw a circle with center point
50,50 and 10 mm as radius
Copy the circle 40 mm to the right
as center point of the circle as base
point

Draw a line from point A to point B


Trim both upper hemispheres of
the two circles
Delete the horizontal line

10. Draw a horizontal line from 65,70


to 75,70

All objects have properties controlling their


appearance

Geometric properties are the most important factor


governing how objects look and determining where
the objects are in space

Click New button on the Quick Access Toolbar
Click the arrow button next to the Open button in the Select Template dialog

coordinate for the Start point, pick in the

Erase the first line
Draw another line and then display the
new line's properties (see different
numbers)

where the bottom left corner is at

Offset the rectangle 5 mm to the


outer region

Draw a pentagon in the middle of the


smaller rectangle where the radius is
8 mm inscribed in circle

15. Change the colour to Yellow

Change the colour to Cyan

Open the Linetype drop-down menu in the Properties


panel and select Other
8. In the Linetype Manager dialog box, click the Load button
9. Scroll down in the Load Or Reload Linetypes dialog box
and select HIDDEN then click OK
10. Click OK to close Linetype Manger dialog box

12. Click on the Layer tool panel drop-down
13. Click on HiddenLine layer

16. Type LTS and Enter to start Linetype Scale
command
17. Type 0.5 and Enter as new linetype scale
factor

Create layer for center lines

Change the colour to Red

2. Click on the center point of larger arc (as
center point of 1st circle)

5. Click on the center point of smaller arc (as

m) Change the linetype of the center lines


1. Open the Linetype drop-down menu in
the Properties panel and select Other
2. In the Linetype Manager dialog box, click
the Load button
3. Scroll down in the Load Or Reload
Linetypes dialog box and select CENTER
then click OK

4. Click OK to close Linetype Manger dialog

5. Select all the center lines
6. Open the Linetype drop-down menu in
the Properties panel and select Center
from the menu
7. Escape to deselect the line

n) Change the layer back into 0 layer


1. Open Layer drop-down tool
2. Select 0 layer to make it as current layer

o) Insert titleblock
1. Click Layout 1 tab
2. Select the object appear in the layout and delete

choose Insert (to insert
titleblock)
4. Click Browse and select the
titleblock that have been
saved.
5. Click OK
6. Click the bottom left corner
to put the titleblock

1. VIEWPORTS <enter> (type in the
Layout 1)
2. Select Single in the Standard Viewports
3. Click OK to close the Viewports dialog
box
4. Click the upper left corner as first
corner
5. Click the bottom right corner as
opposite corner

* Use Block Editor (BEDIT) to edit the text in the titleblock
