Based on the article entitled Palm Oil Waste Management: Value Added Products from

Effluent Pond Solids, the problems that can be extracted are:

a) How to improve the management of solids in the pond which can result into a marketable
product,
b) How the palm oil mill effluent can be excavated daily instead of pumping out the liquid
waste every six month or yearly,
c) What type of process involves and the machine required in the palm oil waste
management that can maximize the production of products which are the bio-fertilizers or
organic fertilizers?

Design statement: To design an equipment that related to the implementation of mass transfer
method of drying which in this case involving the processing of fertilizers, a product that is
marketable from the abundance of palm oil mill effluent produced as the sewage which improve
the management of effluent in the pond as well as minimizing the environment impact upon the
waste product. The design will promote the most efficient production of fertilizers by providing
the most efficient technique of drying using the most ideal machine to fully utilize the waste
product into a marketable item.
