students at HHS for their support of our humanitarian efforts over Week Four Walkathon Results
the past few years. In particular, we would like to thank the grad
class for donating the offering from the recent baccalaureate church
service to support education in Piggs Peak. This is one example of
the compassion our Partnership has seen demonstrated by this group
of fine young people … one example of what makes Hampton High
School special. All of Hampton should be very proud of them.
As the current grade 12 class moves on and a new class moves in,
the spirit of buntfu will persist at HHS. It was personified by
students like Tyler Henderson and teachers like John Murphy and,
through them and others like them, has become ingrained in the very
fabric of the school identity. Like Yeats, the teachers at HHS
recognize the importance of lighting a fire under their students; and
the community and students are lucky to have them. We pray this
fire will continue to burn within the graduates and inspire them to
keep making a positive difference in their global community.
On a personal note, my wife, Lisa, and I would like to offer our own
congratulations and best wishes to the graduating class of 2010 and Even small amounts of exercise will reduce your risk of heart disease, and a stay active

Donations given to a yard sale recently were disgusting - just plain
junk - old worn out baby car seats which are not allowed to be used
now a-days, rusted camp stoves that had not been used in years,

JULY AT YOUR CHERRY
The Federal and Provincial Governments are helping older workers remain active in the
workforce by investing more than $10 million across New Brunswick and will be
extending the “Targeted Initiative for Older Workers “until March 2012. This support will
help up to 1,000 older workers in New Brunswick acquire new skills and find jobs.
The Targeted Initiative for Older Workers is designed to help unemployed older workers
living in communities affected by high unemployment and/or downsizing. Through the
initiative, these individuals can get the skills they need to find and keep new jobs, or start
their own businesses, in order to keep contributing to their communities and Canada's
economy.
This project will support the community and economic development of the region by targeting employers in sectors facing
labour shortages, and help them address their human resources needs.

Workers make a positive impact on the workplace! With a wealth of experience many workers over the age of 55 are too
young to retire and have a lot to offer employers.
Keri Geddes is seeking applicants over 55 years of age who are currently unemployed and seeking a full time opportunity
for long term employment from the following regions:
Alma Sussex

Workplace Essential Skills/ Specialized training and Computer Basics will begin on August 9, 2010 in Sussex, NB. Six
weeks have been allocated for the in-class training component which is designed to improve the employability skills of
participants between 55 – 64 years of age, and assist them through activities such as prior learning assessment, skills
upgrading, and on-the-job experience. The program will cover programs developed specifically for this age group and be
able to assist them with a successful career transition. In cooperation with the targeted employers, specific training will be
developed by the Coordinator in cooperation with Post-Secondary Education Training and Labour, and NBCC Moncton
along with other certified training agencies.
A commitment has been made to help unemployed older workers increase their employability in order to remain active
and productive in the labour market and to capitalize on skills they currently have. This program is designed to help older
workers re-enter the workforce and maintain employment in a sustainable way.
The Coordinator at Enterprise Fundy will target and identify private-sector employers interested in taking part in the
program. Some of the priority sectors identified among others are: manufacturing, service, retail, tourism and health care.
Should you fit into this age category and are presently unemployed, this project may be of assistance to you. Contact Keri
Geddes, Program Coordinator of the New Start 55+ “Targeted Initiative for Older Workers” for an application form.
