General Objectives:
By the end of the activities, the medical interns will be able to impart to the community
the important facts and knowledge about cough and colds lecture.
Specific Objectives:
Promote awareness of the community regarding cough and colds, its causes,
management, and prevention. This will be discussed and be imparted to the community
through proper lectures.
Encourage the residents to have basic understanding on the mode of transmission of the
disease and to prevent it through teaching proper personal hygiene, such as proper
handwashing, cleaning their surroundings, and proper waste disposal.
Encourage lifestyle modification (e.g. smoking and drinking cessation) through lectures.
Also encourage the community to have adequate rest, regular exercise, eat healthy foods,
drink plenty of water to strengthen their immunity, and have a yearly flu vaccination.
Activity Proper:
The activity started by introducing ourselves and what are the things we are going to do.
URTI discussion with emphasis on eatiology, signs and symptoms, complications, and
treatment
Question and Answer portion where meical interns provided prizes for the residents who
were able to answer

General Objectives:

essential facts about Diabetes Mellitus.
Specific Objectives:
To provide information on how to help control the level of sugar in the blood
ADA Recommendation:
-Screen individuals >45 years old every 3 years
-Screen individuals at an early age if they are overweight (BMI >25 kg/m2) and with
additional risk factor for DM
