PROFESSORS
Pokmon professors study unique aspects of Pokmon and often employ the
help of aides. Besides entrusting Trainers with their first Pokmon,
professors and assistants may have any combination of very common to
unique Pokmon that assist in their specialized field of study.
They may begin with a common bird, a common mammal, a common
rodent, or a common insect as well as the regional starter pokemon.
NETWORK TECHNICIANS
These people are in charge of the
Pokmon Storage System, the
transport system, and the computer
networks throughout the region. They
usually only have pet Pokmon.
NEFARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS
Hidden in plain sight among the citizens of Kanto is an organization up to no
good. They are known to exploit Pokmon for profit, stealing or capturing
rare Pokmon, and
conduct cruel research
on Pokmon. Crime
waves and crime sprees
that plague the Kanto
region are said to be the
work of Team Rocket
whose motives and final
goal is unknown.
GYM LEADERS
Throughout the Kanto Region there are special places to train Pokmon called Pokmon Gyms. These Gyms are run by Gym
Leaders who test their students and challengers. As a symbol of overcoming the gyms challenges and defeating the gym leader,
the gym leader may hand out a Badge to certify the challengers completion.

CELADON CONDOMINIUMS
A cross between a long-term residence building and a bedand-breakfast, many people call the 4-story Celadon Condos

A tea-loving old woman who owned the condo when it was
first a large mansion is the de-facto caretaker of the building.
Her pokemon are free to roam around. A company called

and is the staying-place for most of the tourists in town.
Nearby is a popular restaurant that holds a promotional eat-athon contest.
CELADON UNIVERSITY

POKMON MANSION
A once decadent and elite 3-story building with a basement
catering to elusive persons, it was caught in a mysterious fire
and abandoned. Though officially condemned, several looters
or rogue scientists can be seen sneaking in and out of the
wreckage. Intimidating statues of a certain pokemon can be
found throughout the mansion.
POKMON LAB
Founded by Mr. Fuji, this laboratory has been the scene of
important scientific discoveries including the revival of
fossilized pokemon and the creation of the virtual pokemon,
Porygon. The Silph Co. had contracted the lab for Porygons
creation. It is quite possible the Lab helped to create the
pokemon transfer system as well; and as such, many people
look to trade their pokemon.

This building used to be Saffrons preeminent gym,
specializing in fighting-types and run by karate master Kiyo.

beat him out. While the dojo is still a functioning training
center for fighting-types, its lack of recognition as an official
gym has caused it to fall into disrepair.
SILPH CO.
The Silph Company stands as the largest building in Saffron
and is the biggest business in Kanto. The company has
invented many of the products that are sold in Pokemarts
across the region. These items include medicines, technical

CERULEAN CAPE
Located in the far northeast of the Kanto region, Cerulean
Cape extends out into the ocean. The most commonly traveled
route to the cape is Route 25 and while it has a beach, the
shores are too rocky for boats to land. The land around the
cape is fairly flat except for a rising seaside cliff. A lighthouse
perches at the top of the cliff to warn passing ships of the
rocks below. A seaside cottage is the home to the lighthouse
keeper and is the only other permanent structure on the
otherwise secluded cape. Two freshwater ponds around the
cottage contrast the deep saltwater of the sea.

west, and an eastern path to Route 14 on the southern side that
only goes east. Various patches of grass and trees mark the
delineation of these two paths as well as ledges.

the patch of wild grass where Pokmon hide is secluded in a
dead-end area unfrequented by most people.

ROUTE 18
The southern ending point of Cycling Road.
Entry Points:
North to Route 17, East to Fuchsia City
Habitats:
Route 17 is also known as the Cycling Road. The only actual
land on the route is both on the north end of the route and the
very south portion of the route. The north end has a small
patch of grass. The suspension bridge of the route which spans
the length of the route has a gradual southerly slope which
makes cycling south very easy and a favorite among
motorcyclists and bicyclists. Lampposts light up the bridge at
night and it is a favored spot to watch ships sailing away from
Vermillion Harbor. Because of the bridge, it is mandatory to
have a bike to traverse the route and keep it handy at all times.
Habitats:
Route 18 lies on the very horn of the Kanto Peninsula. While
generally a very flat land, it has been built up and maintained
due to frequent traffic from the Cycling Road to the north.
Because of the difference in elevation from route 16, Cycling
Road reaches its lowest point in elevation on this route. Safety
barriers prevent bicyclists from falling into the sea, but it also
prevents any fishing from the route. There is only one small
patch of grass south of the main trail and visitors to the

Habitats:
South of Fuchsia, Route 19 is a busy swimmers beach despite
the rocky waters. The shallow shoreline and rocks also
provide a break from the fast ocean currents allowing
swimmers to float safely. Because of the size of the small
beach, boats are not allowed to land here. Triathletes and
sportspersons love this section of water from here to the
Seafoam Islands to test their mettle.

Habitats:
Unlike the southern route east of the Seafoam Islands, large
ships avoid route 21 due to the many sand bars and rocky
outcroppings on this route. Smaller boats and fishermen,
however, dare to thread the needle and race their boats
around such obstacles. However, this route isnt as popular or
used as much as Route 20 except for during the annual
Pokmon League tournament where trainers head north to
Palette Town to make their way to the Indigo Pleateau.

Habitats:
This route is broken into two sections, divided by a cavernous
underground path called Victory Road. The southern half,
which trainers first enter if they pass the reception gate on
route 22, involves seven other checkpoints, a series of
archways, an artificial lake as an obstacle with a small island,
and rocky patches of grassland. Each of the checkpoints make
sure potential challengers have the requisite badge to proceed
forward. Any challenger who doesnt have the badge is turned
away until they present the correct badge. Spectators who are
not challenging the League are welcomed to pass through via
the buildings along the route. The final checkpoint is at the
start of the Victory Road cavern. Most eager trainers who are
itching for battles are found on this southern half. North of
Victory Roads exit are a series of columns, statues, and
marble slabs; a place of contemplation of what lies ahead as
the Indigo Plateau looms just in sight, above these columns.
