nilalaman, kaanyuan o kayarian at paraan ng
pagkakasulat ng akda.

Pananaw Formalistiko
1)
Nasa porma o kaanyuan ng akda ang kasiningan nito.
2)
Ang isang akdang pampanitikan ay may sariling buhay
at umiiral sa sariling paraan.
3)
May mga elemento ang isang akdang pampanitikan at
ang bawat isa ay kaugnay ng iba pang elemento;
magkakaugnaypugnay ang mga elemento upang maging
mahusay ang akda.
Formalist Criticism: This approach regards literature as a unique
form of human knowledge that needs to be examined on its own
terms. All the elements necessary for understanding the work are
contained within the work itself. Of particular interest to the
formalist critic are the elements of formstyle, structure, tone,
imagery, etc.that are found within the text. A primary goal for
formalist critics is to determine how such elements work together
with the texts content to shape its effects upon readers.
