TEACH us!
For over 175 years, we followed their precedent,
their teaching and their understanding of how things
should be.
John Jay was right and is right!! It is Wise to prefer
Christians for our government!!
The Illinois Supreme Court made a profound
statement back in the case of Richmond vs Moore in
1883 we read.
Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon
and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is
impossible that it should be otherwise. In this sense and to this
extent, our civilizations and our institutions are emphatically
Christian. -- Richmond v. Moore, Illinois Supreme Court, 18832

great trepidation.
The statement John Jay made is important because
it echoed the sentiment of the individual states and
gives us an understanding of why the delegates didnt
feel they needed to specify certain issues, ie like that
expressed by Justice Jay, in the federal constitution.
Had they known what would happen in less than 176
years to their beloved nation, there is no doubt from
their writings that they would indeed have included the
same provision that most states had in their
constitutions.
They didnt worry about Christianity being in any
way eradicated from the nation or from the federal
government, because they all strongly believe in states
rights and the majority of the states had already secured
this issue in their constitutions.
Let me cite a few of the early state Constitutions...
and by the way, remember that the men attending the
Constitutional Convention, in many cases had been
instrumental in the drafting of their own state
constituions.
