leaders.

As Days

Dear Parents,
I've had the privilege of speaking to a number of MVCA alumni over the break and it's
been rewarding to gather input from them on how we can improve as a school. Conversations over coffee, donuts and just listening to them interact with each other has been a
delight. It reinforces our priority that relationship brings to the educational experience
we value at MVCA.
Part of our conversation was the feedback I asked them to give on a survey I handed
them. I'm hoping to gather all their unique input and have some practical guidance in
how MVCA can get better as a school. We will also request information from you parents and students in the next few weeks so please join us as we send requests to respond
to these surveys. I promise to do my best to share the results of these questions.
One way I challenged the former students I met with today was the aspect of identity
and definition of who they are. I shared how I see myself as a Christian who happens to
be an educator. As a "missionary" to the public school system, I was defined as a Christian who worked as an educator, not an teacher who happened to be a Christian. This
attitude helps all of us be more intentional in how we look at representing Christ in all
we do. Our society today wants evangelicals to be private in our beliefs but Jesus commanded us to take the gospel to Jerusalem and unto the ends of the earth!
How do you define yourself? I challenge each of you to have the attitude of being a
Christ follower who just happens to be called to some place of influence that may or
may not change in the future. Our occupation should not define us or limit us so please
look for ways to be intentional about sharing the Good News wherever and whenever
He calls us.

I will be sharing some information with you about the value of a Christian education
next week as we lead into Montana school choice week January 23rd through the 27th. I
also plan to write an article for the papers as well so please pray for wisdom and guidance with that project.
One way we delight in expressing our service to the Lord is in the yearly Senior missions
trip which is coming up in less than a month. There are many ways you can participate
in helping gathering the needed materials and clothing, assisting with fundraisers and
praying over the students and staff that will be traveling. Thanks for doing your part to
help us develop life- long servant leaders.
Blessings,
Christian
