concept of clean coal. The clean coal concept is driven by the goal to lessen the
impact of carbon dioxide emissions on the environment from the burning of coal as
an energy source. The desired effect is either no carbon dioxide emissions or to
reduce the emissions to such a low amount that the impact becomes insignificant.
Another alternative fuel goal is that someday, hopefully soon, automobiles will not
need to run on gasoline.
