Be careful=beware
warning
-Ill show them a picture of a dog and a boy next of the dog. Then Ill ask
them the following question: what do you think of dogs? Is it dangerous or
safe to play with a dog?

How can you advise this boy?

I expect the answer:
Dont play with dogs. They can bite you.
Ill draw the pupils attention to the examples written on the board.
Where can these things happen? Touching the plug, touching hot things,
playing with dogs? Do they happen at school?
I expect the answer:
They may happen at home
Our lesson today is about safety at home

dogs and human being
Here the pupils will be asked to read the text and check their guesses.
The pupils will be asked to answer questions 1 /2 page 26 in their S-B.
The pupils will be asked to answer question 1 in their A-B on page 25

Ill
write
the
following 2 stces on the board:
My father is lenient whereas my mother is severe.
While dogs are dangerous, rabbits are peaceful.
What do the words whereas and while express? Do they express addition
or contrast? Do they have the same meaning as but or and?
I expect the answer: they have the same meaning as but so they express
contrast.
Here, Ill ask the pupils to reread the 2 stces using but instead of while
and whereas
My father is lenient but my mother is severe.
Dogs are dangerous but rabbits are peaceful.

Whereas, while, but

contrast
Ill ask the pupils to pick out from the text 2 stces expressing contrast.
For more consolidation, the pupils will be asked to do step 2 in their S-B on
page 27.
