Reviewing Academic Standards and
Preparing for the Teacher Conference
SEA Elementary School

Welcome

Welcome to our returning families and new families!


Last week: Discipline as a guide vs. punishment, setting reasonable limits
and rules, concept of deferred gratification, relationship between positive
discipline and academic achievement, STAR- decision to go to college.
Parent share: general reflections on the classes so far. How have you
implemented or shared what you have learned with others?

The Academic Foundation


Introduction: The majority of students that drop out of school generally do so
because they have fallen behind. It is often at the elementary level that they
begin to fall behind. To prevent this from happening to our children, we must
be in constant communication with their teachers and get to know the
academic standards as well as the teachers expectations and goals for each
grade level.
