fferences?
Ans - We have used BSO and ASO.
Que 2: Can we build dimensions directly from data sources without using rule fil
es.
Ans - Dimension building is not possible while data loading is possible. Free Fo
rm Data loading is method that could be used to load data without using rule fil
e.
Que 3: When do we generally use build rules files?
Ans - For Dimension building.
Que 4: What are the three primary build methods for building dimensions?
Ans - 1. Parent Child Refrence Method
2. Level Reference
3. Generation Reference
Que 5: Can we create more than 2 dimensions using only one build rule file.
Ans - Yes. We can use one rule file to create more than one dimension but it's r
ecommended to use separate rule file for
building each dimension because if we get any error then it's not possible to tr
ack the error due to single source
file for all dimension.
Que 6: What is UDA( user defined attributes). How are they different than Aliase
s.
Ans - UDA is a user defined attributes and created for grouping of members based
on that we can do reporting and analysis.
while Aliases is just a description of member name. It's entirely different from
UDA.
Que 7: Can we query a member for its UDA in a calculation script.
Ans - Yes. We can use UDA if we would like to execute calculation for specific m
embers.
Que 8: What is the difference between UDA's and Attribute dimensions?
Ans : Attribute dimensions provides more flexibility than UDA's. Attribute calcu
lations dimensions which include five members with the default names sum, count,
min, max and avg are automatically created for the attribute dimensions and are
calculate dynamically.
Que 9: While loading the data, you have applied both the selection criteria as w
ell as rejection criteria to a same record. What will be the outcome.
ANS - Always second option will overwrite first option.
