Thespeakerinthispoembeginsbycomplimentingthesubject,owers.Sogreat
ishisadmiration,thatheusesthewordgallant,whichisbothanadjectiveand
anounasaverb.Inthisway,hegivestheword,strengthandforceinorderto
emphasisehisappreciation.Inaddition,heremarksthatowersarenot
conceited;theydonotthinktoohighlyofthemselves.Hedeclaresthathe
wishesthathecouldbelikethemonbothcounts,thatis,courageousandyetnot
stuckup!
Hethenexplainsfurtherwhenhesaysthatwhenowersemergeandaract
aention(withtheirbeauty)theymakenoproblems;rathertheyquietlyreturn
totheearth,fromwhichtheycame,aftertheyareseen.Thereisthesuggestion
atthispointthattheowersdonotfeelimportantfortheyknowthattheearth
isthesourceoftheirbeauty(embroideredgarments)andsogrowing,blooming,
