WORKSHOP ON CIRCUIT SIMULATION AND ASSEMBLING

With the advancement in technology, human life has undergone a substantial change. Electronics

simulation engages the user by integrating them into the learning experience. These kinds of
interactions actively engage learners to analyze, synthesize, organize, and evaluate content and
result in learners, constructing their own knowledge. With the motive of encouraging practical
knowledge among the students, IEEE Delhi SAC organized two days workshop on CIRCUIT
SIMULATION AND ASSEMBLING which focused on student retention among student members as part
of IEEE India Strategic Initiative on 3 rd and 4th November, 2016 at Jamia Millia Islamia University, New
Delhi.
The main aim of this workshop was to edify the concepts of electronics devices and its simulation which
was well organized by Mr. Akash Bansal and Mr. Shubham Shukla, members of technical coordinators
team at IEEE Delhi Section and with a great support of Ms. Kayenaat Nayeem, Mr. Chetanya Mehra, Ms.
Ayesha Yadav and other members of IEEE JMI.
First day of workshop began with a registration process of tech enthusiastic students, after the completion
of registration, Mr. Akash Bansal, the speaker of workshop introduced himself to the participants. After
this, professional software tool like proteus ISIS was introduced by the speaker. Many electronic circuits
like power supply, variable supply source and various transistors applications were simulated on software
by the participants under the guidance of IEEE Delhi Section technical coordination team and active
volunteers of IEEE JMI. When the participants were comfortable with these topics, Mr. Shubham Shukla,
gave a brief introduction of some electronic components like diode, capacitor, inductor, resistors,
switches, 555 timer IC etc.

On the last day of workshop, various electronic circuits prototypes were modelled by participants using
various electronic components and hardware provided to students at the venue. Some important
concepts related to basic electronics and circuit simulation like half wave rectifiers, full wave rectifiers,
transformers, OP-Amps(LM358,LM341),Shift register (74HC595), PWM & duty cycle were briefed by Mr.
Akash Bansal. After this discussion, kits needed for this workshop were distributed among the participants
and the general introduction was also given to them. After this, various electronic circuits were designed
on software and hardware kit too. Bistable multivibrator was designed on hardware kit by using 555timer
IC and power supply was also implemented on the same day and its output was shown and checked on
an oscillator on DSO (Digital storage oscilloscope). After these brainstorming activities, a doubt session
was conducted by Mr. Akash Bansal and Mr. Shubham Shukla.
Workshop was concluded by a special session on the benefits of IEEE which was delivered by Mr. Vivek
Goyal, former chairperson of IEEE NIEC. This was proceeded by an interactive session of participants
with our honorable guest Mr. Vivek Goyal. This interactive session aimed at disseminating the participants
about the benefits of IEEE such as scholarship program, publications and the other links.
In the last,
two day workshop was declared completed with a photograph session of all tech enthusiastic participants,
organizers, volunteers and guest.
