Workshops

Activity 1
Name: The box with issues
Target: Educating others and ourselves about different aspects of legislations
around the Europe.
Instructions : The children are asked to stay In a circle and to pick from a vase/box a
letter on which is written different problems/issues around the idea of gender
discrimination
The kids should make connections between the problems and the solutions debated
in legislations, or to create a new solution.
Example. Sweden has picked up different payment. The kid should say an article (if
he knows one) from their legislation or he could create a solution on the topic or to
talk about how their culture sees the issue.
Activity 2
Name: If we were politicians
Target: Finding the differences between European cultures and to understand how
we can improve our own political system(if not, our own commitment to change) by
taking advices from each other
Instructions : There will be 3 groups, the politicians , the audience and the
interviewers
The politicians group: a kid from each of the countries participating in the
programme
The audience: 2/3 kids from each audience
The interviewer: teachers or kids also
The politicians should create a campaign in which they fight against gender
discrimination. Each politician should present their own point of view about an
issue and their way of solving it.
The interviewers should ask hard questions to test the capability of the politicians
The audience should pick their choice of politicians (they should tell why they voted
their candidate)

Activity 3
Name: The protest
Target: Understanding how is it to be in the shoes of a protester and how he/she
should act

Instructions: Two groups, the bosses and the protesters


The bosses: should try to find ways in which they can convince the protesters to
stop
The protesters: should try to find convincing ways in which they can take what they
want from their bosses. They should also pick the best way of protesting,create
benners etc
Activity 4
Name: Haunting the answers
Target: Testing the ability to work under pressure ( in this activity we need a timer),
To find the correlation between stereotypical points of view and the things around
us, in the end there will be two gifts for each group
Instructions: Two groups,each of them will receive notes that will help them find the
treasure,each group should follow the instructions written on the notes.
Correlation example so you will understand better girls should dress only in..(pink)
the group should find something pink in the room and there will be another note.

Activity 5
Name: The Chocolate Quiz
Target: Testing the information that the kids have based on the movie, the book and
the legislation. Instructions :Each kid will receive a question and if the answer is
correct he will receive a candy/chocolate
Example of questions: What does Gay says about women friendship, what is the
reaction of Ritas husband on her protesting, what rules is in your country based on
the domestic violence
Activity 6
Name: Simulating the worst
Target : Finding what will be the kids reaction in a bad situation facing gender
discrimination.
Instructions: Each country should pick an aspect of g.d. and simulate it. The other
kids should act or say
Example: Romania picks domestic violence, they came with a roleplay in which they
simulate a scene where a boy/girl is hurt. The other countries have their own
participants in this play and they should try to stop the fight. They should explain
why they picked their way of stopping it and if they had the courage or not to act on
it in real life.
