SAMPLE CALCULATION
r

F A 0 ( X A ,iX A ,i1 )
V i=

Where;
Vi

= volume of reactor i

F Ai

= molal flow rate of A into the first reactor

X A ,i

= fractional conversion of A in the reactor i

X A ,i1

= fractional conversion of A in the reactor i-1

For first order reaction,

r A=k C A , i=k C A 0 (1 X A , i)

v = volumetric flow rate of A = 150ml/min = 0.15 liter/min

For the first reactor: (V = 20 liter)

k C A 1=k C A ,1 =k C A 0 (1X A ,1 )

CONCLUSION
RECOMMENDATION
1. Make sure to not use too high flow rate to avoid the over flow and make sure no air
bubbles trapped in the piping.
2. The timing for conductivity values for each reactor to be taken and recorded should be
not more or less than three minutes.
3. Make sure to rinse the conductivity probe while taking reading for every each of the three
reactor to avoid any errors.
