understand what the new leader Fidel Castro was warning against and what he thought
was right. He said that he didnt want people to think that everything was going to be ok.
Rather, he wanted them to know that everything is not over yet and things still need to be
done.

This website shows the events that led up to "May Day", and what everyone knew about
the revolution from that point. This helps me understand the steps taken in the 2 years
since the revolution and the direction that the socialist nation was going in.

This website shows the steps taken during the Cuban revolution in order to gain the land
and control of Cuba. Castro wishes for cooperation and tells the people it will be over
very soon if everyone cooperates. This helps me understand what happened so that Castro
could gain complete power over Cuba.

This speech given by a citizen of Cuba during the Revolution reveals that if the people
were to rule the land, the country would be in complete despair right now, and Castro is
what they needed to ensure that they are going back on track to being a great country.

This photo helps me understand what Castro and Guevera were feeling after taking over
Cuba. They were proud and smiling after overtaking the dictator Batista. This helps me
know the mood of the conquerors after taking over Cuba.

revolution.

News. This newspaper helped me understand what Fidel Castro did when he took over.
When he took over, he also kicked out a dictator named Batista, and that is why everyone
was happy when he took over.

understand what went on after the revolution.

This article shows the stance of other's besides Castro on how the revolution is going.
President Kennedy believes that it is the opposite of what was promised, and he doesn't
like that. This helps me understand what really was happening in Cuba.
