Explanation of symbols
E= All absorbed energy J
E1= kinetic energy J
E2= thrust / self-weight energy J

HR

a. Kinetic energy ......................... Calculate value of E1 according to "colliding pattern figure e.g.".
b. Thrust / self-weight energy ..... Calculate value of E2 according to "colliding pattern
figure e.g.". For S (stroke length of NCK) in expression,
select model whose max. energy absorption exceeds
E1, and use S per model No.
c. All absorbed energy ................ If result of calculation exceeds Emax (max. energy absorption)
after that, select one size larger NCK according to selected
model No. before, and recalculate. If calculated E is lower
than Emax selected model No., the selection is acceptable.

5 Check colliding object equivalent mass.

HCP

Me= colliding object equivalent mass [kg]

a. Calculate value of Me according to colliding pattern figure e.g.

Note: Colliding object equivalent mass corresponds

to mass of workpiece, even for body moving
with thrust etc., if it is assumed that all of them
are kinetic energy only. If only expression of
energy is used, load is restricted by colliding
object equivalent mass, because mass of
workpiece will extremely increase in low
speed operations.

b. Permissible if Me is within Me range of selected model (calculated value of Me < specified value HMFB
of Me) according to calculation of Me (catalog value) and "a" for model No. selected at 4 .
