CHAT SESSION: Mothers/fathers Health Teaching

The principal information that student nurses will convey is Family Planning. The
content of the discussion includes the description of Family Planning, its methods,
brief description of methods, misconceptions about family planning methods and
the roles of a public health nurse on family planning program.

Expected Outcome:

The people in the community shall be able to

identify the 3Rs, how to segregate the waste and its benefits to ones health and
environment. Also, through the health teaching, the students shall be able to realize the
bad effects of littering to the environment and health thus encouraging them to stop and
change their bad habit which is littering.

Objectives:
To keep the community clean and free from any unwanted diseases that can be
acquired because of improper garbage disposal.
To teach the community about ways how to manage their waste properly through
3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
Teach the community about segregation of waste and know the different disease
that can be acquired with unsanitary environment.
To coordinate with the Barangay Officials to have collection of garbage in Sitio
Monicayo.

CHAT SESSION: 3 RS
The student nurses will have a discussion with the mothers regarding the proper
way of segregating their waste through explaining 3Rs and provision of health teaching
to the grade school students in Sitio Monicayo.

the waste and its benefits to ones health and environment. Also, through the health
teaching, the students shall be able to realize the bad effects of littering to the

School teaching: Garbage Monster- Film Viewing Activity
The goal of the activity is to impart knowledge and values to watchers for proper
waste management. The student nurses themselves will be the stars of the show. The story
of the film is about a big brother Kuya who is a model example of someone who knows
and practices proper waste disposal. He will show to the people he will meet how to
classify the trash according to the three categories which are Biodegradable/Nabubulok,
Non-biodegradable/Di-nabubulok, and Recyclable.

Expected Outcome:
After the short film, the students will be asked to classify the garbage in the pictures
shown in the video. The students should be able to answer the questions correctly and
will be able to learn to classify their waste and they exhibit behaviors of proper waste
management such as throwing their food wrappers in the correct container.
