1. Why vSpace Pro 10 and what is it?
vSpace Pro 10 is our next-generation desktop virtualization platform and has evolved based on the
customers and resellers feedback.
vSpace Pro 10 includes a completely redesigned UI and UX, making it easier to deploy and manage by
IT admins. New cloud dashboard gives more control back to IT admin; centrally and remotely manage
up to several hundred sessions, whether in the classroom or workplace. Bring the latest Windows 10
desktop experience with nine Windows Operating Systems and support innovative technology including vCAST, premium features and cloud-ready services to deliver a better user experience.
vSpace Pro 10 is a free upgrade and has full compatibility with NComputing L, M, MX and CX series thin
clients. New vSpace Pro Client for Chrome and Windows with new software client license is required to
connect to vSpace Pro 10.

2. What are key benefits of using vSpace Pro 10?

3. What OSs does vSpace Pro 10 support?

vSpace Pro 10 supports over nine popular Windows Operating Systems, including the latest
Windows Server 2016 (technical preview version) and Windows 10 to deliver a true desktop
like PC experience for the end user. Please refer to the latest vSpace Windows compatibility
matrix.

5. How can I install vSpace Pro 10?

Go to https://www.ncomputing.com/vspacepro10 to download and follow steps in the
Installation Guide. Please also refer to our online setup video tutorial.

6. What components are included in the vSpace Pro 10 installer?

The vSpace Pro 10 master installer include vSpace Server, vSpace Console, vSpace Manager
and optional premium/cloud features. The entire install & setup of vSpace Pro 10 can be
completed within 15-minutes.

7. What is vSpace Console?

vSpace Console is the new admin console where the admin can centrally manage vSpace Server
deployment, monitor and control user sessions, and perform device management. The vSpace Console
has been redesigned from the ground up to replace the NC-Console application provided with earlier
versions of vSpace Server, with a new UI/UX along with powerful features while making it easier to use.
The admin can perform tasks remotely such as firmware updates, device profile management, and
vSpace server configurations.

vSpace Console will also provide management tools for new premium features such as vCAST and
Classroom Management.

8. What is vSpace Server?

Installed on a host machine vSpace Server delivers virtualized desktop sessions to the client
devices.

9. What is vSpace Manager?

vSpace Manager is responsible for managing local licensing and paid features allocation to connected
vSpace Servers.

vSpace Manager also provides the registration functionality.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The customer must complete the vSpace Manager registration process before they
may begin using vSpace Pro 10.

For smaller deployments, vSpace Manager can be installed on the same host machine as vSpace Server.
For larger deployments, a centralized vSpace Manager can be setup to manage licensing of multiple
vSpace Servers on different host machines.
vSpace Manager is the license gatekeeper for the vSpace Pro 10 deployment, allocating purchased
licenses (switches on or off) to vSpace Server.

10. What is the NComputing Management Portal?

NComputing Management Portal is a cloud-based dashboard where the admin can manage
and allocate their NComputing software licenses, and premium features to their deployed
vSpace servers. It also gives the administrator improved accessibility and visibility of asset
tracking and user information. The Management Portal serves as a foundation supporting
many new and exciting features in our development pipeline.

11. Is the NComputing Management Portal accessible using a mobile device?

No. Currently mobile access to the Management Portal is
unavailable. However, using Android/iOS application
NComputing Register, customers can scan serial numbers and
register their devices manually.

12. Is vSpace Pro 10 server registration required?

Registration is required upon installation of vSpace Pro 10. The vSpace Manager must be
registered before connected vSpace Server will begin granting remote desktop sessions.
Those individual vSpace Servers do not require registration.

13. If I already have an NComputing account can I use those credentials to register vSpace
Manager?
Yes. Login with a previously registered NComputing account or create a new account. It is
strongly recommended to use a valid email address specific to your organization.

14. Where can I buy Premium Features?

Your NComputing reseller can provide license keys for Premium Features and vSpace Software Client
connectivity.
Alternatively, you can login to the Management Portal and go to Purchase Software to use a credit card
to obtain licenses directly from NComputing.

15. Im interested but on the fence about buying a license, do you offer free trials for the
Premium Features?
Yes. We offer a 90-day free trial of vCAST for all first-time vSpace Pro 10 deployments.

16. Where can I view all my purchased NComputing software?

Go to Management Portal My Software

17. What are device groups and how do they help?

Admins can create groups with predefined specifications, and assign devices to this
configuration. Administrators can create device Groups and freely assign devices, for example
belonging to specific locations, departments, or users. This group clustering simplifies device
configuration, profile and firmware updates, activity monitoring. This technique is especially
effective with many connected devices.

18. My CPU usage is high and palettes are red, what should I do?
It is advisable to look at the individual users session by opening vSpace Console Manage Servers
click the particular vSpace Server Sessions, and then select View or Stop.
This can also be an indication that other issues that are not related to vSpace Server may be occurring
on your server. It would be advisable to connect to the server to view running processes.

19. A user is abusing the session, what are my capabilities as an administrator?

Sessions lists all connected users including the client, serial number and other information.
Administrators can view or take control of any individual users session, send a message to the
user, or end the users session.

20. Can I access this information from my mobile device? Can I manage/monitor/control users
sessions with my mobile device?
No, not in the initial release. However, mobile access providing remote management
monitoring and control is coming soon.

22. How to transfer licenses?

Open Management Portal My Software search specific license (on right side) select ALLOCATE
i. Administrators can deallocate the license from an existing vSpace Manager and reassign it to another vSpace Manager for flexible deployment

Premium Feature licenses can be reallocated to different vSpace Servers connected to the same vSpace
Manager at any time. Open vSpace Manager Premium Features press Allocate

Note: Any trial licenses assigned to a vSpace Manager may not be reallocated to a different vSpace
Manager.

23. Can I install more than one vSpace Manager in my environment?

Yes. One vSpace Manager can be installed per host machine and there can be multiple host
machines per customer environment.

24. How many vSpace Servers can I connect to a vSpace Manager?

It is a good idea to keep the maximum number of connected vSpace Servers per vSpace
Manager between 20 to 30. This limit is to simply provide easier management of license
allocation. Technically, a single vSpace Manager can handle 100+ vSpace Servers.

25. What is vCAST? Do I need to purchase it? Does it improve the performance of the users
session? How long is the license?
Currently we are providing a 90-days free trial period for vCAST streaming feature. After 90-days, the
customer can decide to purchase its annual license to keep this feature.
Delivers true web HD videos with improved QoS over LAN and WAN by enabling direct web video
streaming from websites like YouTube. vCAST can improve user density of vSpace Server by 6 times for
supported NComputing software clients.

26. How do I redeem license keys?

If you purchase products like software client licenses or premium features from resellers, youll get a
license key from them. To redeem a license key,
i. Go to the Management Portal REDEEM LICENSE KEYS, and enter the license key and
redeem the products you have purchased. Or:
ii. Open vSpace Manager and go to Client Licenses Redeem License Key and enter the
license key and redeem the products you have purchased.

27. Do I have to purchase a vCAST license for the host machine or for each connected device?
An individual vCAST license needs to be purchased per each vSpace Server.

28. What browsers, websites or videos and vSpace Clients are supported by vCAST?
Only works with the Google Chrome Browser.
Videos hosted by YouTube. Some websites use embedded videos which are hosted by YouTube.
Generally speaking, those embedded videos are compatible with vCAST.
vCAST support is limited to the vSpace Pro Client for Windows and vSpace Pro Client for Chrome.

29. What are the Premium Features?

vCAST streams high-definition videos without ever sacrificing quality. vCAST technology processes
and transmits packets on the client-side, thus lowering overall CPU usage to allow more connected
user-session and a better user experience.

Classroom Management (expected in Q117) improves teacher/student interaction, learning and
productivity; only teachers, who do not have to be administrators, can launch Classroom Management.
They can lock the presentation screen and decide what student will share their screen with others
Health Monitoring (expected in Q4) allows administrators to monitor server health, individual CPU
usage, and make real-time decision including stop sessions or reset servers. A companion mobile app
will be available which will have the ability to remotely view usage activity and receive real-time alerts
of potential problems.

31. What is the difference between vSpace Pro 10 and vSpace 8.4?
