My Dear Eastern Kentucky Friends and Colleagues,

Greetings in the Name of the Lord.
God is alive and moving strong in and through the great people of Eastern Kentucky. Joni and I trust you had a great
Christmas and have welcomed in 2017 with all of the hope of Christ. We each one need to be ready and willing to be
all God needs us to be for Him today and in the days to come. Let us mount up with wings as eagles and run for the
cause of Christ.
I would like to share with you several important items concerning our great District.
This month we are hosting a DCPI event Dynamic Church Planting International at Ashland First - January 20
-21. This conference provides tools for the new things God wants to do in our lives, our churches, and our
district. You will be given some of the how-to tools and moments for God to challenge you and interact
with others to let God stretch and move you. This event is a great opportunity for each church.
I am attaching the flyer and including the LINK. We also need you to call, email, or text the district
office to let us know you will be attending. There is a $35 registration fee that covers three meals, notebook,
and additional materials. You will be responsible for your travel and hotel. We have made arrangements in
Ashland for hotels at a reduced cost if this is needed.
It is our honor to have Dr. Bill Wiesman, USA/Canada - Evangelism Ministries Director as one of
our trainers for the weekend. We are also blessed to have Reverends Chris Gilmore and David Mills as our
program directors. There is still time for you to join us.
This month in the NCN and Engage Magazine our own Rev. Kevin Campbell and Intersection were featured in

Church Planting Essentials
Churches Planting Churches
January 20-21, 2017
Location: Ashland First
What church planting training is available?
Church Planting Essentials (CPE) is church planting basic training.
Churches Planting Churches (CPC) is church sponsorship 101 - Vision.
The materials were created by Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI), based upon
years of working in mission areas where the church is expanding rapidly.

Why this training and not something else?

Its Simple: Basic principles to apply to a variety of church plant models in many contexts
Its Reproducible: Geared toward creating churches that will multiply
Its Re-Teachable: Contains sessions that certify attendees to reteach the material
Its Low-Cost: The cost will cover the registration fee for your training track and three meals.
Course materials are included free of charge. Travel, lodging, and any remaining expenses would
be on your own.

How much will it cost and where will this training be held?
$35 (Includes registration fee and three meals; course materials provided free of charge).

Deputation 2017
Kent and Kathleen Pelton have
been serving the Church of the
Nazarene as missionaries since
1994. Since 2000 they have
served in Thailand. Kent currently
serves as director of Southeast
Asia Nazarene Bible. Kathleen
serves an administrative role for the Southeast Asia Field.

The Peltons served in Papua New Guinea for six years, Kent as a
teacher at Melanesia Nazarene Bible College and in a district advisory role. He also led in the development and implementation of
a viable distance education program and the Th.B. degree program at MNBC. Kathleen served in an administrative role at
MNBC.
