Brief outline of idea: (No more than 10 lines)

An ex-government FBI agent begins to investigate corruption concerning
various governmental jurisdictions. After the occurrence of certain
controversial events, as well as experiencing first-hand the corruption
within governmental ranks, he is motivated to hack into servers that
hold information about individuals that have used their power to
manipulate the system. However, his work puts him in danger as he
discovered he is being followed by people presumably trying to protect
the people he is attempting to expose.

Detailed plot:
Equilibrium

Watching news reports about governmental corruption

leads him to have flashbacks to his career with the FBI
where his witnessed it first-hand. He begins his
investigation by piecing together various documents he
had collected over the years.

Disruption

After having hacked into various servers that would help

him gather more information, he begins to believe he is
being followed. Seeing heavy clothed men standing
outside his window and staring into his house.

He realises that he needs to find a way to protect himself,

so he purchases canned food to last him months and
boards up his house. Completely secluding himself from
the outside world.

repair

He continues his investigation and his paranoia grows as

he believes people are trying to get into his house.

Equilibrium

After gathering what he thinks is enough evidence to

imprison the individuals he begun investigating he decides
to share his findings with the world, however before he can
do this. Strangers break into the house and he believes
they are the men trying to protect the people he is
investigating, they turn out to be law enforcement as well

as his family members, the twist ending concludes that

the people he was investigating for corruption were in
fact innocent and his previous work colleagues who
took actions which lead to him being fired from his job. His
involvement with drugs had lead him to become paranoid
and delusional and the ending scene shows him being
submitted into a criminally insane facility.
