Technical Data Sheet

4 3/4" AutoTrak eXpress

The INTEQ AutoTrak eXpress system is an automated 3-D rotary steerable
drilling service utilizing industry's most advanced AutoTrak G3 Rotary
Closed Loop System (RCLS) Steerable Stabilizer technology. The new
Autotrak eXpress delivers cost-effective rotary steering services to a broader
directional drilling market. The benefit of this new rotary steering service
enables to improve rig efficiency, ensure effective 3D directional control and
reach tighter production targets in cost sensitive drilling application.
The AutoTrak eXpress service provides a fit-for-purpose base level drilling
service, combining the most accurate automated directional control technology
with a rugged MWD sensor sub. The tool can automatically steer itself during
continuous rotation of the drill string with changes to the well trajectory
communicated to the tool from surface while drilling ahead. The azimuth
information and vibrations level status flags are obtained from a sensor sub,
which can easily be assembled to the tool via modular connection on the
rigsite. The directional sensor (and optional gamma sensor) communicates
with the AutoTrak Steerable Stabilizer sensors for Near-Bit-Inclination,
downhole temperature, steering forces/pressures and diagnostic information.
Transmission of data to surface is handled via the INTEQ's state-of-the-art
mud pulser technology. The new AutoTrak eXpress downlink provides a very
reliable and simple to use communication for programming the downhole tool
from surface. The programming of new directional control parameter can be
done while drilling ahead, means without any impact on net NPT (non
productive time). The new AutoTrak eXpress downlink requires no special
surface gear at the rigside. On command from surface the AutoTrak eXpress
system is able to

automatically maintain build and drop angle selected from a variety of

steering forces
automatically steer to a new target inclination and maintain target
inclination
drill tangents and horizontal sections in automatic inclination hold mode
apply side force to correct azimuth target in tangent and horizontal
section

The system is capable to kick off into any desired azimuth. It is also able to
achieve any 3D profiles up to geometrically calculated doglegs of 10/100 ft.
Advantages using the AutoTrak eXpress services include the known benefits
from AutoTrak G3 precise steering capabilities combined with a rugged
MWD sensor sub and an easy manageable Downlink function.
Continuous steering while rotating
minimized torque & drag
improved hole cleaning & quality
higher gross ROP
reduced differential sticking
bit selection for performance
reduced NPT (non productive time)
Automated directional control
improved horizontal TVD control
reduced hole tortuousity
Two way communication
adjustable direction (toolface)
alterable dogleg severity
build, tangent and turn section can be drilled in one run
downlink confirmation & tool diagnostic
