A tragic incident occurred between
two star crossed lovers this past
Wednesday when Romeo Montague
drank poison, killing himself after
finding his wife Juliet Capulet laying
in the Capulet monument, dead. The
tragic part is that she wasnt actually
dead. She drank a potion, which
made her appear dead because she
was being forced to marry a man
named Paris by her father. After
seeing her husband dead, she
stabbed herself.
Although these two families,
Montague and Capulet, are sworn
enemies, their teenage children fell
in love and married. Romeo was
banished from Verona for killing
Tybalt, cousin of Juliet. She wanted to
escape with Romeo so they could live
happily together.
It was a matter of minutes in which
they
could have ended up living a happy
life. Alas, thats not what happened.
Young Juliet faked her death and
Romeo was supposed to receive a
letter, which explained the death was
all fake. Unfortunately, he never
received it. Romeo then proceeded
to get to Juliet from Mantua and he
killed himself next to her so he could
be with her forever, in heaven. Juliet

awakens to find her beloved husband

laying next to her, dead. She then
stabbed herself with Romeo's
dagger because she loved him and
since he was dead, Juliet
undoubtedly felt that she had
nothing left. The Churchs Friar, Friar
Laurence was in on this plan. Once
he realized that Romeo didnt know
what was actually happening, he
went to rescue Juliet from the tomb
because he believed Romeo had no
idea and he wouldnt come and
rescue her. He walked into the
monument and saw Romeo on the
ground dead and Juliet awake. Juliet
refused to leave Romeo and once the
Friar was gone, she killed herself for
her love.
We had a chance to speak with Friar
Laurence regarding his thoughts and
feelings about the situation. He
stated; I tried to help Romeo and
Juliet live a happy married life
together. I thought marrying them
would end the feud between the two
families. I was correct about that but
I never though it would happen like
this.
The feud between the Capulet and
Montague families had ended on the
note of their childrens death. They
realized the death of Romeo and
Juliet was because of the family feud
and they each plan to raise a golden
statue of the children.

In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet were

two teenagers who fell in love and
made a quick decision to get
married, which ended badly. Their
love was honestly very moving
because they sacrificed themselves

for each other, which a lot of people

wouldnt be able to do. Who would
have ever though falling in love
could be so incredible but end so
badly?
