PERMITS AND N.R.A. LICENCES -

The waters mentioned here in require all anglers to have a

permit from the relevant club or owners.
Anglers also need to obtain a National Rivers Authority licence
from Post Offices (which close at noon on Saturdays).
Each licence entities two rods to be used. Juniors under 12
years need Club permits, but no N.R.A. Licence.

PLUMP HILL POOL This pool is sited on the A4136 at the top of Plump Hill (on the
left going from Cinderford). Turn left and there is parking
available. This pool offers Carp (Mirror and Common) Tench,
Perch, Roach, Chub, Barbel and Goldfish.

THREE COUNTIES FISHERIES - (01531 890455) All pools are

on private property and all anglers must abide by Three
Counties Fisheries rules. Prices are for day tickets and are from
dawn to dusk.
LILY POOL - (Day tickets on bank) Little Marcle road out
of Ledbury half a mile on right.
WILLOW POOL - (Day tickets on bank) Little Marcle
road out of Ledbury half a mile on right.
RUSSEL'S END - Now a reservoir - fishing prohibited

The use of groundbait is strictly prohibited on all out waters

with the exception of Steam Mills Lake. PERMITS: Adult Annual, Adult 21.00, Junior 8.50, daily -5.00 -Junior & OAPS
& Disabled Annual 9.00, daily - 3.00.

PERMIT: Annual - Adult 20.00, Junior & OAP's 9.00 Daily Adult 4.00 and Junior & OAPs - 2.50 - no weekly permits

LIGHTMOOR POOL - This picturesque pool is situated on the

B4226 Cinderford to Speech House road, access to the water is
gained by turning down the track directly opposite the Dilke
Memorial Hospital, a bungalow will be on your left. Take the
first turning left and this brings you directly onto the car park.
This pool offers Carp, Perch and Bream fishing.

CANNOP PONDS - These waters consist of two lakes totalling

about 11 aces of water. They can be seen from the B4234 Cannop
to Parkend road. The pond offers Bream, Carp, Chub, Eels,
Perch, Pike, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Dace and Grass Carp. Daily
permits available from the sports shops in Coleford and Lydney.

BIDDLESTONE POOL - (day tickets on bank) Ross Hereford Road A419 - five miles on left to Abergavenny,
turn left at St. Owens Cross crossroads. 1 mile turn right
then left (to Biddlestone) Entrance on left about a
quarter of a mile.

MARIONS POOL - This water is situated alongside the A4136

by the junction with the B4228 Coleford road, and only a mile or
so from 1he Christchurch Campsite. This pond offers some of the
best Tench fishing in Gloucestershire and also carries quality
Roach.

LYDNEY ANGLING CLUB - In Lydney Lake and also

Lydney Canal. Daily permits are available from Forest Tackle,
High St, Lydney (01594 844729)

FLY FISHING

MEADOWCLIFF POOL - This pool again situated on the

A4l36, approx, l/4mile after the A4151 Cinderford junction in
the Monmouth direction. Turn left at the Old Northern United
Colliery (sign for Truck Services UK Ltd. and Woodward Vehicle
Dismantlers) Travel approx. 200 yards, taking first right down a
gravel track leading directly to the pool, Special barriers have
been constructed for the use of wheelchairs.

WATERLOO SCREENS - This water is also sited on the A4136

about 1 mile after Brierley (towards Monmouth). There is a
pull-in on the left where you can park just prior to the Cannop
crossroads. Walk up the track approx. 2/300 yards and the pool
can be seen through the trees. This water is suggested for quiet
fishing holding Carp, Chub, Roach and Rudd.
STEAM MILLS LAKE - This lake contains Carp, Bream, Chub,
Roach and Dace to excellent proportions as one would expect
from a lake of 5 acres and this is the only pool at which the club
allows the use of groundbait. For access, use the same access
route as Meadowcliff Pool on the A4136, but do not turn from
the track, continuing on past Coleford Brick & Tile and you will
see the lake below you.

DEAN RISE FRUIT FARM - Blakeney, Glos. (01594

510322) on the A48 Gloucester/Chepstow road between
Newnham and Blakeney - please ring Mr. J.G. Baber for further
details on prime Carp fishing. There are four separate ponds on
different levels, all with very pleasant outlooks. These ponds are
teeming with fish up to 17lbs. just waiting to be caught!

NOXON POND - Mr. Wright, Noxon Farm, Bream (01594 562236)

From Coleford take the B4228 Chepstow Road turning left onto
the B4231 Lydney road. Noxon Farm and Pond can be seen on the
left. Daily permit 4.50, 2.50 for Juniors and OAPs. Season tickets
are available at 60.00 for the season, 40.00 for Juniors and OAPs.

STAUNTON COURT - (01452 840230) Situated on the A417 three

miles from the Junction 2 M50 or 8 miles from Gloucester, This
farm with industrial units has a Caravan Park and fishing on three
lakes for Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Bream on daily permits.
Toilet facilities available. Parties by prior arrangement only. 6.00
per day. Night fishing for 12s and over. Tackle shop on site.

FAIROAK FISHERY - Tuition may be arranged by

appointment, and tackle hire is available. This is a stillwater
trout fishery, two miles from Tintem on the Wye Valley.
Comprises of two large lakes (approx. 3 acres) and a small
